Undergraduates In Kwara State Stage Protest; Demand Reopening Of Higher Institut by Afangideh1(m): 7:22pm On Aug 19, 2020 |
Undergraduates in Kwara state on Wednesday August 19, staged a protest to demand for the reopening of higher institutions in the state. Higher institutions of learning in Nigeria have been shut down since March as part of measures to contain the spread of Coronavirus in the country. The protesting undergraduates marched to the front of the government house in Ilorin. They argued that if airports, markets, and churches can be reopened, their schools should also be reopened. They carried placards with different inscriptions such as ''Adamu Save Our Education', Re-open Polytechnic Now'. paulolee: Okay bro, I'm a 600lvl medical student. I opted to join in treating d covid19 patients from may till July,mid-july. U know how many patients we treated?? 19,buh my state keeps getting high numbers like 109 everyday, I had to ask d question, where are these patients going to??, cos we ain't seeing them here. Now, there's no stigmatization against covid19, not in d teaching hospital I was in, at least. And covid19 isn't as dangerous as people term it to be, pneumonia is actually worse than it. Matter of fact, when I was tested at some point, turns out I was an asymptomatic carrier of d virus, which was why I stopped working at d hospital, cos we were not entirely sure if I could transmit it to my family or friends. I isolated for a while.im fine now though. So if u re asking whether covid19 is a scam, the answer is no, it's not,but in Nigeria;we have way way lesser cases than we portray, plus we are also undertested.. Now back to students, baba, Ds virus is going nowhere, let's start school biko.if we contract it, we isolate and treat it. Nufn much. It's better than staying at home, without moving forward, cobwebs wan full person brain. Online lectures are not working m, me Dt was on one lecture like Dt and still chatting with my babe on whatsapp.. How will I concentrate. Plus network issues everywhere. I want to do my housejob and leave ds country pls.. I'm tired. 1 Like |
