Yes it is but in minut quantity. It is compulsory because of the minerals and vitamins that help detox impurities from the body. It is also rich in Iodine which helps the body absorb nutrients from the food we eat and prevents goitre (a swelling in the neck) . so, its very important. Some times after adding seasoning in meals like beans and soups, I don't add salt again but I add to other meals to get the benefits. |

ChefDominiq: You're welcome. Yes they contain salt but are more of chemical hence to use the natural one to get the most out of it. Though it may not be in the same meal but try to incorporate it in other meals to avoid oversalting the seasoned ones. |

Not necessary, but it is good for the body. It contains sodium, which is important for body functions. Sodium is needed to help relax and contract muscles, conduct nerve impulses, and sustain the proper balance of minerals and water in the body by the kidney. It also enhances flavour of food, especially rice. In small amounts, salt will intensify sweetness, so it is sometimes sprinkled on fresh fruit. But it should not be overused as it can be harmful, especially to hypertensive people. Generally, if the taste of food is ok to you without it, all's good. |
