Second picture :Chika, the dead Nigeria pilot.

Nigerians and busy body. This pilot by name Chika died in an helicopter crash in Lagos. Not just that he died, but emptied the fuel tank while on air so that the helicopter would not catch fire and harm more people when crash landed. No one is celebrating him but thousands of Nigerians have flooded their timelines and Whatsapp status with the picture of Chadwick who died in a far away land. if the pilot was an american, you will see how the media will publish it even the president will talk about him to the extend that it will spread over the world but in Nigeria ,all our bloggers are now concentrated on bb naija, politics,Bobrisky ,celebrity ,politics and blaspheming.

Every dead person supposed to be celebrated for sure but WE MUST FIRST CELEBRATE OURS because charity begins at home.

Let's eschew Hypocrisy and 'I want to belong' syndrome because it will do us no good. How many times have the Whites celebrated with us both in good and in bad?

The people(IPOB members) that were killed in Enugu last week, how many persons talked about it not to talk of talking about the thousands of Nigerians that are been butchered everyday in Nigeria.

We are always noisy and as well too busy doing nothing.

The most annoying part is that even people that don't know him post for him. All in the name of I want to belong.

We don't even celebrate ourselves not to talk of mourning our fellow Nigerian. people are not talking about the Nigeria pilot and his bravery, but they are mourning an American actor dey know nothing about some didn't even know the film he did, some say he did black panther, is it only black panther you know?.

Hypocrisy is a disease. Nigerians wake up.

Conclusion.

I didn't say you should not celebrate or mourn him but this article tell you to celebrate the Nigerians than others.

No black box , how people arrived at he emptied his fuel tank still surprised me till now , what if the cause of his accident was lack of enough fuel in his tank before take off or issues related to fuel problems

People should allow proper investigation into a crash before concluding

Rest in peace Chidi

Chadwick was and will remain a hero to the black community.
Aside that ,he is being celebrated because he was dying and still went on encouraging, helping, motivating ,leading like a true KING that he was!

Stop being a hypocrite!

You can't feel the absence of someone whose presence you never felt. This is a fact and there's no point pretending otherwise.

I think it's naturally a matter of how famous one was. People die everyday but only a few get such attention and regardless of how we view it, it remains a fact that people only celebrate the lives of people they felt connected to. It's not a matter of where one comes from. I cried when Micheal Jackson died but didn't really feel anything when Yaradua died asides pity for the family, yet I'm originally Nigerian and he was the president. That was because I hardly knew Yaradua but I felt connected to Micheal cause I grew up listening to his songs. All the plane crashes that have happened in the past had someone piloting the planes, how many of them got such attention? They were not less human but you can't share their pics pretending to be moody about their demise when you aren't.

Chadwick death isn't being talked about just because he was an actor. He got the attention cause a lot of people knew him when he was alive. His followers will miss his tweets, his fans will miss his face on the screen, etc. He represented a height for blacks in Hollywood. His existence was significant to a lot of people. On the other hand, people didn't really know Chika when he was alive so even though he died a hero, the connection wasn't there. To his friends and family, his life was far more significant than that of Chadwick and they must be feeling his absence more. But for the rest of us, nothing really changed and we can't pretend otherwise just to appear good.

May their souls rest in peace.

No .
A hero because despite been in pains , watching himself die slowly ,he was still motivating, inspiring, helping others and without trying to gain sympathy.
He lived a life worthy of emulation!

I haven't seen a single negative comment about him EVEN when he was alive !

Oh please, kill this bull-crap agenda of yours.
You don't tend to police people on whom to condole with or show empathy to.
If Chika is your problem, send your condolences and maintain your lane, if it is Chadwick, do same, if you are not moved, face front.

Thank you

OP is just trying to write a content for his blog without thinking deep.

Some celebrities like Messi and Ronaldo are even more famous than the most famous president alive today. Who has not heard of Mohammed Ali before he died? People can naturally feel it because there is interaction through the screen.

This Chika must be a good man and even though he must have being a pilot for a long time he is not as famous as Tolulope Arotile, that died recently, just because the girl is the first combat female pilot. Celebrities like Genevive, Emanuella, Osita Iheme and Chinedu Ikedieze are known all over the world. Lalasticlala is almost more famous than Seun here on Nairaland and if you mentioned my username who knows me?

My point is Fame is on a different level you have to earn it, if people don't know you they don't know you.

You're on point bro, Lemme bottle your point!!

When Kobe Bryant and his Daughter died in an Helicopter accident, Nobody talk about the other 8 people that lost their lives in the same helicopter including the pilot, People were only talking about Kobe Bryant and his daughter!!

Because that's the only people they feel connected to! It's not a matter of being hypocrite, It's a Fact!!

I agree with you to an extent. But, you have to realise that, there are huge differences between Chika and Boseman. The differences are:
1. one is popular and the other is not.
2. We naturally can relate to Boseman, due to his portrayal of king T'Challa in the Black Panther movie, which almost every black Tom, Dick and Harry have watched.
3. Also, the media did not celebrate and praise the bravery of the pilot Chika for what he did to ensure that minimal damage was done when his helicopter crashed but, in contrast, Boseman has been praised for his bravery in battling cancer and at the same time acting in movies and never complaining or even letting people know or looking for pity from people about his condition.

If you hadn't made mention of Chika i would not have known about him and his bravery. It is difficult and almost impossible to praise someone we don't know or even heard of.

May the soul of Chika and the soul of Chadwick Boseman rest in peace....Amen!

shocked

Alot of fans knew Chadwick all over the world and not many knew Chika.

Chadwick is an international fictional hero while Chika remains a national hero in Nigeria.

Many people may not celebrate Chikas death because we didn't know him while millions knew Chadwick.

So to us who didnt know Chika, it was another 'spanner lost' because we know that people die everyday.

But to the Govt who is responsible and feels the lives of their citizens are important, Chika dieing that way, should have made him a celebrity already. Our Govt and it's officials should have "heroic termed" him.

But we know how insensitive and careless our Govt is thus his travail.

It is peoples faults that Chike isnt celebrated. It is the govt's.

May their souls rest in peace.
