In response to the petition at Area J filed by Mr Idris Ogunlaja (aka Aloma)
I was the former General Secretary of the ICDA until I resigned less than 3 weeks after the election initially on the 23rd January 2020 and finally on the 4 February 2020. I am also a landlord in the community.
Mr Ogunlaja is on his fifth General Secretary at the present time. The four before all resigned their position (Mr Obi, Mr Innocent, Mr Sobayo, Mrs Okpei and Mrs Olufemi) . Addendum 2 September 2020. The fifth has also stopped attending any ICDA executive or management meetings. Not even a half descent human being can work with Mr Ogunlaja.
Addendum: 2 September 2020. While failing to pursue his petition at Area J after the end of lockdown, Mr Ogunlaja continued to intimidate and in fact sent his thugs to beat up the security in my street and chased me with instruction “ to beat me up and nothing will happen”(a matter reported at Ajiwe Police Station)
I now understand that Mr Ogunlaja has escalated matters to the office of Mrs Ngozi Braide of the IG Lagos Monitoring unit at Obalende, and on 2 September 2020, Mrs Ngozi Braide invited Mr Sanni Zuberu and Mr Innocent 2 members of Idiagbon Community who were similarly invited via the Area J petition on 20th April 2020. One wonders whether Mr Ogunlaja intends for Mrs Ngozi Braide to abuse her position by harassing members of Idiagbon community, help Mr Ogunlaja to fraudulently establish a legal obligation where non exist, help Mr Ogunlaja to fraudulently avoid his responsibility to provide account of his stewardship which he has failed to do in the almost 4 years that he has been Chairman of the ICDA. Deny members of my street their right to freedom of association as enshrined in section 40 of the 1999 constitution of Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Below are incidents leading up to my resignation as the General Secretary of ICDA and beyond.

Re: Governance By Intimidation By Idris Ogunlaja Of Idiagbon Cda by gabbytabby: 10:41am On Sep 04, 2020
Why would a Senior Police Officer of Mrs Ngozi Braide's calibre be engaging in arm twisting the Security Contractor in my street, insisting that he must terminate his Security provision.

Not having had any security incident ever, last year was a particularly tough year for people in my street with constant instances of armed robbery. Personally in my home we had 3 robberies. To now be able to come together to secure enhanced security and find that a senior office of the law Mrs Ngozi Braide is seen to be thwarting our efforts to provide some alert system to protect life and property is clearly unbelievable.

We do have right to freedom of Association as enshrined in section 40 of the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Mrs Ngozi Braide has a duty to protect our right and privileges under the law.

What one does in the dark must surely come to light and the guilty should be afraid.

*OPEN LETTER TO CSP NGOZI BRAIDE*

I have leveraged on my contacts and now have more details and contact telephone no she has been sent my 11 page response letter

CSP Ngozi it's not a coincidence that Mr Ogunlaja's (aka Aloma) police agent of harassment and intimidation both at Area J and IGP Obalende are Igbo women. His kind usually prey on women knowing that he will be easily sourced out by a man. From one woman to another dont let this kind of person crush what you have built up over the years.

I understand that he is also using you to intimidate the omonile in the community and you have been on the neck of their agent Alhaji Hassan with your trumped up allegations because they say Ogunlaja has been stealing land from them and they requested his proof of purchase. Apparently he also wants to tell them who their Olori ebi should be. Nothing concern me with omonile matter except to say we want peace in our community and all Mr Ogunlaja does is fight with everybody.

I understand that you do not listen to the other side once a sponsored petition lands on your desk but ma dont say you do not know what you got yourself into.

A man or woman who threatens the safety of my household and stands behind those who kidnapped my daughter has started a war.

*Estate Residents Can’t Be Compelled to Pay Dues; Court Rules*

A Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, has delivered a landmark judgement that Nigerians who live in a residential estate cannot be compelled to be a member of the Community Development Association (CDA) popularly known as residents’ association of estate.

This decision of the Court has put an end to any future arbitrariness of resident associations in Nigeria.
By this decision, payment of dues is now voluntary and forcing residents to be members has now been declared unconstitutional.

Residents in Lagos State will no longer be subjected and compelled to pay outrageous membership dues and other levies.
The judgement was delivered on Friday, 25th of September, 2020, by Honorable Justice Oweibo, sitting at the Federal High Court, Ikoyi, Lagos.

This suit *(FHC/L/CS/982/2020)* was filed by Megawatts Nigeria Ltd (Applicant) through its counsel Mr. Kayode Adeniji of Lawracles LP, against the Registered Trustees of Gbagada Phase II Residents’ Association and others as respondents.

Facts deposed to on court processes show that Gbagada Phase II Residents Association had been sending notices: requesting the payment of estate dues from 2017 to 2020 for sums ranging from 300 hundred thousand to 200 thousand naira annually, to Megawatts Nigeria Limited.

The position of the Residents Association is that since Megawatts Nig. Ltd is a company resident within the estate, it is bound to pay demanded dues and levies.

The position of megawatts on the other hand is that since it provides for its own security, waste management and other services the estate claims to be providing, it is not bound to pay dues. This is in addition to the fact that Megawatts is not a member of the association.

Megawatts further claimed that the estate security prevented its trucks from accessing the estate in order to compel and coerce the applicant to pay requested fees.

‘The primary issue before the court was whether a person; resident in an estate can be compelled and coerced into membership of a resident association?

The court ruled in favour of Megawatts Nig. Ltd and awarded cost against Gbagada Phase II Residents Association. The court further declared that no one can be forced to be a member of a residential association, be it a company operating within the space of the residential estate or a person who is a resident in that estate.

The court considered section 40 of the 1999 CFRN as Amended which states that:
“Every person shall be entitled to assemble freely and associate with other persons, and in particular he may form or belong to any political party, trade union or any other association for the protection of his interest ....’’

And the saga continues.

Engr Okoli now sent to harass residents in my street as to why they have decided to take action to protect lives and property. This is the same street where we were being robbed every 2 weeks or so. We were robbed 3 times in 6 months in my compound and some residents experienced physical harm to their person. In the 2 years that we employed enhanced security to God’s glory no incident.

The ICDA has engaged the services of about 4 to 5 contractors and they have all withdrawn their services within about 3 to 6 months because essentially they will collect security levy but will not pay the contractor.

I will be lying if I do not say that I am tired of Nigeria and Nigerians.

They have found a Judas in the street in the person of Mrs Grace Modupe Akintunde and together with her children are now terrorising security and I. Mrs Grace Modupe Akintunde says she does not believe in security and has not paid anything for security since September 2020. Since she be real troublesome mama we did not even ask her but chose to let her be. Why get into unnecessary issue over 3k with someone that you know even when they fight with each other they will stab each other with knife.

Tonight Thursday 3 Feb 2022) the Son(lawyer) pushed me and I almost fell down. Same son was threatening with Machete in a video recording last month.

Apparently Mrs Grace Modupe Akintunde used to collect money for projects in the street and when it is time to do the work she will not bring out the money. Now that I collect she probably sees me as stopping her business as usual with no accountability.

For the most part, we collect security for the street around 27th and by 30th 31st handover to the Contractor. Often times the money is not complete and I advance the shortfall for a short while.

No amount of beautiful clothes can hide the total ugliness inside.

Watch this space. Video coming.

Due to her abuse of other landlords, her rudeness and bad manners Mrs Grace Modupe Akintunde was removed from the street WhatsApp group.

Apparently she thinks because she is one of the earlier land buyers she entitled to treat other landlords with disrespect.

Re: Governance By Intimidation By Idris Ogunlaja Of Idiagbon Cda by gabbytabby: 9:35am On Feb 04, 2022
Mrs Grace Modupe Akintunde even went as far as arresting security. I had to make arrangements to get security bailed.

Several people spoke to her to no avail.

One wonders why Mrs Grace Modupe Akintunde is so invested in the street being insecure and it is worrisome which kind of person one has as a neighbour.

Re: Governance By Intimidation By Idris Ogunlaja Of Idiagbon Cda by gabbytabby: 9:46am On Feb 04, 2022
Remember Mrs Grace Modupe Akintunde stopped paying for security in September 2020 and we let her be. She stated that she contacted Mr Idris Ogunlaja because the wife is from her place.

Due to her continuing terrorism, abuse and disrespect of other landlords she was removed from the street WhatsApp group in May 2021.
Re: Governance By Intimidation By Idris Ogunlaja Of Idiagbon Cda by gabbytabby: 12:02pm On Feb 05, 2022
Mrs Grace Modupe Akintunde left her home to go to church at Redeem (RCCG at Ogidan) at about 6am and came back at about 10am and it appears that this is how she can represent the teachings she got from her pastor and Jesus is by coming back home and shouting like a mad dog because there was a delay in opening the street gate for her and she went in called her children and started disgracing herself and family as usual.

If this is the home training a mother has given to her children what expectation does one have of the children.

This is all by my gate and with the son (lawyer that is going to sue me) threatening with a machete.

Mrs Grace Modupe Akintunde has been doing frenemy for a long while and I finally decided to put her at arms length. They latch unto you like a pigeon or hyena when you come into the area and take you for mugu.

1) First she collected 36k says I have to pay this to her even when I had paid 100k to the community for electricity connection.

2) I had tenant police issue she quickly got her lawyer. Lawyer got 30k and she got 20k

3) Papa die I drop money. 30k

4) One year anniversary of papa’s death another 30k

5) 50th birthday I drop.

6) 55 Birthday I drop

7) She wants to repair car I drop

cool The odd 1k, 2k and 5k nko them full ground.

9) you go party with her 5k here and 10k there for petrol.

10) Story story no dey finish all designed to get money from mugu. She said Son got rusticated from Uni and they did not know for 2 years. Papa said he is not paying anymore Uni fees after paying for 4 years. She wants to send him to private Uni and it is 750k and she no get money.

11) I sat jejeli in my home and she came to get me to go with her to the next street she wants to go and tell another parent for their son not to come to her house anymore cos one of her tenants said she saw them smoking. Mumu me I follow after this incident I tried to speak with her not to lock her son out na bang she rudely bang the phone on me and from that day the son stopped greeting me till this day and she knows and brushed it off. I had to speak to myself to mind my business and no unecessary waka waka.

12) I had another tenant issue and this time they are Mrs Grace Modupe Akintunde in laws. This was Dr Oyeneyin who absconded with 344k rental debt. It was a couple of days to year end and Mrs Grace Akintunde quickly sent me the details of a police officer and wanted me to quickly leave what I was doing on the mainland to come and fight her in laws before the year ends. Mrs Grace Modupe Akintunde was hoping for some money from me and I had to ignore her persuasion by not picking some of her repeated calls and I dealt with it by escalating to zone 2 when I returned in January.

13) Mrs Grace Modupe Akintunde called another landlord in the street and I was watching her complaining mostly about me, why I am the one they are paying to, why I am an admin ( I was not at that point) on the street WhatsApp etc. Like I do not have enough on my plate. Early last year, I begged for someone else to take over and continue to do. They just need to be committed to security.

Finally she said she was robbed of her bag by her gate make me I bring money make she go RRS go invite people to arrest her suspects. Her tone reeks of entitlement that I was asking myself why this mama they act as if na me send person to steal her bag. My mugu alert go off and I put brakes on all the silliness.

I finally put brakes when I notice say na one way traffic friendship whether na money , support or loyalty, I give she takes.

She then resorted to abuse and terrorising security and I.

All we want to do is secure our street, install solar light, build gutters and put paving stones on the street. How can someone have a problem with that.

Extremely proud and acts as if she is the one that bought plots for all of us and one needs her permission to participate. Not negotiable ko not negotiable ni.
