Today, i want to talk to you about the Federal Owner Operator immigration pathway. This pathway is very much different from the usual Canadian provincial business immigration program that you may have heard about. The owner operator business program is for small scale business people who want to move to Canada by buying a business. Not just buying a business but also being involved in the daily running of that business eg you buy a bakery and you are the head baker of the bakery.

It has a lot of benefits for business people with much less available cash than the provincial business immigration program. The goverment of Canada has not actually defined or outlined any minimum amount of money that must be invested in order to be eligible for this program but most immigration consultants advise that at least $100,000cad give the entrepreneur a good chance of approval.

If you have at least $120,000cad, you can start the process immediately.
And the whole process can take less than 6months to achieve.

It involves just a few simple steps:
1. Buy a business
2. Get a business plan to show how your business can be profitable enough ro employ you and other canadians or permanent residents
3. Apply for an LMIA
4. When you recieve a positive LMIA, you apply immediately for a work permit
5. As soon as your work permit is approved..you become a temporary resident
6. 1 year after..you apply for permanent residence under the express entry category for people with job offer in Canada

What do you need to have to be eligible dor this pathway
1. Have at least $100,000cad to invest
2. Have at least 1 year business ownership or management experience
3. Not be inadmissible to Canada
