The federal government decided to remove petroleum subsidy and gave approval for increase in electricity tariff when the nation is still battling with the effect of covid-19 which has brought about mass job loss and high inflation coupled with the fact that several citizens are frustrated.

A sensitive government wouldn't have given a go ahead for such policies knowing fully well that the masses wouldn't be able to cope with the effect.

Come to think of it, why will the government remove petroleum subsidy when we do not have working refineries?

This government promised us that refineries will work but 5 years in government, nothing has been done and the irony is that staff are being paid salaries in refineries that are not working.

Why give approval for increase in electricity tariff when we practically have been paying more for power we don't consume?

Why can't the federal government ensure there is stable power before punishing the citizens?

The government always want the masses to adjust to their policies yet the cost of governance is still high, they still travel abroad for medicals, they still collect 100% salaries plus other benefits, do they really care about us? When will they agree that their salaries be slashed?

NLC we support the strike and please don't chicken out, be the voice of the voiceless masses at this time.
