As'salamu Alaykum wa rahmatuLahi wabarakatuh to All my muslim brothers

My advice to us Muslims is "Let's be Patriotic"
Patriotism and obedience to rule of law of one's country is part of Islam! Allah the most beneficient says “O ye who believe,
obey God and obey the Prophet and obey those in authority from among you” (4:60).

If we must obey the authority according to the command of Allah in this verse we must also be patriot because non-patriot will never respect the rule of law. We must always pray for our country and her rulers as a true believer. We must not say ill-words towards our country or despair or abuse her leader, we must be thankful to Allah for his free mercies we enjoy daily. In one of the very popular hadiths attributed to our beloved Prophet which says

ﺣُﺐُّ ﺍﻟْﻮَﻃَﻦِ ﻣِﻦَ ﺍﻹِﻳﻤَﺎﻥِ
“Loving one’s country (patriotism) is a part of the sign of faith”

Although this hadith is Daeef but there is another sound hadith where Prophet
Muhammad (Pbuh) expresses love for his town. The Prophet (Pbuh) used to love Makkah because it was his motherland. He (Pbuh) loved his birthplace, the city of
Makkah, and taught us how to love the motherland. At the time of emigration to Medina, he said to the city of Makkah: "Were it not that my people expelled me from you, I would not live anywhere besides you." Abdur-Rahman bin Awf (Ra) narrated that ‘Abdullah bin ‘Adiy bin
Hamra' said to him: "I saw the Messenger of Allah (Pbuh), when he was on his she-camel, standing in Al-Hazwarah (a place in Makkah) saying: ‘By Allah, you are
the best land of Allah and the dearest of the lands ofAllah to me. By Allah, had I not been expelled from you I would never have left." (Ibn Majah). After migrating to
Medinah, the Prophet (Pbuh) loved Madinah but didn't forget Makkah.

“(Pbuh) said in a Hadith, “To keep awake in the border to protect the homeland in Allah’sway is better than all the treasures between the heavens and
the earth.” (Tirmiji).

Lastly The most Benefecient was counseling his prophet with this verse, promising him of bringing him back to Makkah/Hereafter. Who keeps his promise except Allah?

Surely (O Prophet!) He, Who ordained the Quran for you, will bring you back to the Place of Return (signifies both Makkah and the Hereafter). Say: My Lord knows best who brings true guidance, and who is openly in the wrong. (check tafseer Ibn Abbas)

Lastly we should know that Allah is recording all we say and do, and we shall account for our sayings and doings on judgement day. Pray for Nigeria it is Sunnah! Love it it is Sunnah! Dont say ill-word it is unislamic! Don't despair it is unislamic!

O Allah! You are Al-Khaliq (The Creator) we ask you to guide our leaders aright!

The youth are devoid of knowledge, help us to know the truth and be able to differentiate it from baatil (falsehood).
