Am interested in App building and development but don't know how to go about it. I have no knowledge of programming but will be willing to pay in any institution that can teach within PH and Lagos.

My questions are;
What area of programming will I go into to achieve my ambition (App Builder/developer).?

1) Personally, I would tell you to forget about getting someone to teach you.(My opinion is that real programmers are too busy building stuffs/working to have time to teach).
2) There is a thread on this section's first page, pinned to the top,you would see enough information.
3) Start learning a language, you must have heard different ones but I would recommend either C++, Java or C#(Java preferably) because they are popular for app development (I'm not an app developer myself).
4)I hope you have a laptop, if you don't you can learn on your phone but I would recommend you learn Python or HTML/css(not programming languages but they introduce you to some basic magic) and your knowledge of Python should make it easier for you to learn Java.


5) If you are ready, you can check on YouTube "How to start Java programming" and Google it too.

Then go for it. 80k is a good budget. Let no one bill you beyond that.

How can you ask us what area of programming you should go to ?

If you are interested in mobile app development -

If you have a macbook then start with IOS development, learn swift programming first.

if not android, first learn java/kotlin.( There are many free resources online, Google it)

Google also has free courses on kotlin and android on udacity.com

use your money for internet and a laptop not for any stupid tutor !

learn flutter or react native instead. don't waste your time with java or swift. go to udemy and start an online course.

The big question is what type of app do you want to build (Android / IOS). If you are going for android I would advice you to learn Kotlin as compared to Java, Google is aggressively supporting kotlin as the programming language and most tech companies already on that path also. Learning kotlin is very easy compared to Java, the syntax are not too rigid like java. My candid advice learn on your own, we are in an era where learning via internet is the easiest way to learn. Your 80k fund you have just use it for internet and I hope you have a good laptop. Let me recommend a site you can use for your learning - https://www.raywenderlich.com/

You can use the site to learn either IOS or Android. I am currently using it for kotlin. Go thru this https://www.raywenderlich.com/paths#android

I would recommend you go through there kotlin textbook first to have a good understanding of kotlin, the book is very good even for someone without any programming background

When you done with the textbook, then you can start with the android path. I would have recommended Udacity kotlin but after going through Udacity kotlin and this one, I prefer this one, with how they broke down the kotlin topics (My advice for android, since I am on that path).

For IOS, just follow what I wrote earlier for android and check the IOS section for Info's.

Lastly practice practice practice, there are some exercises in the kotlin apprentice that you should try out. Check out video tutorials on https://caster.io/courses/kotlin-programming-language
