Just make up your mind on a budget and type of car you'll prefer (SUV or sedan).

At 1m per month in earnings you shouldn't be looking for an 11 - 15 year old car

Get something more recent or even brand new you can afford it.

And old car would always have wear and tear.

if you are not married with kids get the accord 2009,if you are a family man get the highlander.Am giving you suggestions based on your choices.but if i was in your shoes i would get a lexus rx350.The car dey durable

Personally, I wouldn't use more than 3-4 months of income on a car purchase.

So, I'd say your budget shouldn't be more than 3-3.5m.

Look at:

- 2006+ Lexus GS
- 2008 Lexus ES
- 2009 Acura TL
- 2007 RX350
- 2008 Acura MDX
- 2008 C300

Personally, of all those cars, I'd probably buy a GS or a TL.

If your commute is on relatively paved roads devoid of flooding, consider the following:
1. 2012-2013 toyota camry
2. 2010 to 2012 es350
3. 2010-2013 toyota corolla
4. 2013 Honda Accord
5. 2010 -2013 Acura TL

If your commute takes you through relatively rough terrain and you have to swim through a few floods, consider the following:
1. 2010- 2012 toyota highlander awd
2. 2010-2012 toyota rav4 awd
3. 2008-09, 2012-13 Acura mdx
4. 2010-2013 Honda CR-V (awd)
5. 2006-2009 mercedes ml350 or ml550
6. 2010-2012 Lexus rx350

Honourable mentions to 2008-2010 volvo xc90 (ask for the reliable engine variant. Valarinz should be able to guide you on this).

2012 should be your base year and 4.5m the max budget.

Cars you should be looking at
Corolla
Camry
CRV
Rav 4
C class
Civic
Accord

Remember, if you are good in maintenance, you should be looking at 3-5 years before replacement. So a 2010 car in 2025 is too obsolete but a 2015 car will still be ok.
