ModestGal: Your course of study matters a lot this days. Courses like history, public administration, soil science, Aquaculture, biochemistry, mass communication, sociology, Anthropology, psychology, philosophy, industrial physics, botany, English & literary studies, business administration, banking & finance (except you're ICAN or CIPM certified), Agric education ,Geography & regional planning, religious studies, Education courses generally and to some extent Law ( except you are extremely brilliant with good grades ) are very useless in this present day Nigeria and their supply outweighs demand. 3 Likes |

ModestGal:Something is wrong. You cannot be best in your class and graduate at 19-20 and not get a good job. Aunty don't lie. Access bank recruited every year from 2014-2019, fbn 2016 to 2018...same with kpmg, PWC deloitte, Unilever etc..were you not applying? It is either you are lying or not smart. cruxgemmata: Totally false. After all, there were 24 year olds who got the job. It's being disqualified by one's age not course of study, grade or skills. How can he get the job when he was disqualified from writing the aptitude test because he's 27? 2 Likes |

SSpeter:not everyone will get into those places. I have colleagues who finished with first class and have no good jobs. You might be intelligent but lacking soft skills. Those companies you mentioned not many graduates know the them. I have a friend who refused to apply because he was rejected once. But pwc, kpmg, Ey and Deloitte all rejected me too. But I kept trying till pwc took me 2 Likes |

rushing kids through school can affect most of them negatively. no matter how brilliant a child is there are some life ish he or she needs to learn either subconsciously or consciously. It's so alarming that these days a kid will jump from primary 4 to JS 1, then d same kid will jump from SS2 to 100Level. these jumping or rushing of a thing has negative impact most times. 2 Likes |

ModestGal:I hope i am not meddling much, is that you don't apply for these adverts? or you were not shortlisted for tests and interviews....or you didn't pass the tests....with your age and class of degree at least you should have written about 8 tests from good coys in the last 2yrs |
Re: Why Do MOST Nigerian Parents Rush Their Kids Through School? by NoToPile: 8:59pm On Oct 28, 2020 |
SSpeter: Nothing is wrong ooo,I realized when writing those tests back then that there's a skill needed to write and pass those tests, especially that SHL, GMAT and it really has nothing to do with being the best in your class. One thing about all these coys you continue till you get the job. I can't even remember all the companies I wrote tests even the ones I was interviewed. 1 Like |

Celebrated Ignorance and over*sabi put togethei... I-beta-pass my neighbour memtality too wey de make dem steal, loot public treasury... And make dem force their children to speak only English. Such only get to damage prime intelligence in the child and make mere-busyness of the child. Yet no good diction is what becomes of the child's writhing in painful language style. Stolen money only produces stolen possessions... |

It's because of the unemployment rate in Nigeria. If they graduate early, atleast they might get job before clocking 30. |

OJURONGBE1:shhhhh that mouth. Guy you may think your degree means that's what you will do for life. There are CEO of Banks in Nigeria who studied Fishery and Botany and they are well placed. There are various philosophies concerning education and wealth. Do what you have to do by studying and coming out. Look for a field you would like to work invest in it and you will see the returns. You don't know there are many Agriculture and Allied courses working in the bank , stock market, oil industry and NGO's. No whyn yourself you undergraduate and you go know wetin dey sup . |

Cetacean419: Comprehension is a very difficult thing nowadays. You can't even object my observation without insult ? Are you sick in the head? I never said people that studied these courses don't get jobs at all, all i said was their supply outweighs demand. Next time, read thoroughly before blurting out stupid statements all in the bid to comment . |
