Students don't become Vice Chancellors in UI and OAU or anywhere for that matter..

Vice Chancellors must be university lecturers who must have been appointed to the rank of professor for minimum of 10 years (7 years in some cases).

There's hardly a way a student will stand any chance with such high requirements.

No Igbo professor showed interest in being the VC, it seems.
On the other hand, you will need microscope to look for Igbo professors in UI. Maybe, it's the same way at UNN.

The crisis escalated, hence NUC ordered UI Senate to elect an Ag. VC who will serve for a non-renewable term of 6 months,because Olayinka's tenure ends today.

The new man will be in-charge so as to avoid a vacuum. He is the present DVC Academics.

The election for substantive VC will likely come up next year.

He is from the philosophy department and he's once lectured at the DOMINICAN UNIVERSITY ÌBÀDÀN. congratulations PROF.
