You didn't want to go into details but ended up with the tribal inclination that Aguiyi Ironsi organised the coup...., as if you were there when he organised it or prolly you helped him organised it. The people of the past made their mistakes. Let's start getting it right now. For people clamouring for a divided Nigeria, no issues with that if it serves the people better but I don't want to be in enmity with any yoruba or hausa even if Nigeria is eventually divided. 3 Likes |

You guys should stop distorting history Aguiyi Ironsi never planned or organised any coup rather he became head of state by chance. He was even penciled down for assassination so try to get your fact right. 5 Likes |

This is a historical blunder, ironsi did not stage a coup and The only northern general was Brig Gen zakariya maimalari, who also died during the jan coup also known as the five major coup which was masterminded by major ifeajuna who ojukwu later killed for staging a foiled coup against him during the civil war 5 Likes 1 Share |

Though it looks more like a high-calibre montessori nursery and primary school. Our designers should up their game. The design industry in this country is still very poor |

travelwaka:may God Almighty forgive you. And starting today you lost a passionate follower of your travel blog. With the part I put in bold coming from you, it means your blog had been spreading lies and rumors fabricated in your skull!! What nonsense Please people don't listen to this history re-writer and fabricator!! Aguiyi Ironsi never organized any coup in 1966. Aguiyi Ironsi was just a victim of vengeance and circumstances. He was never among the coup organizers. Stop spreading lies please. Go back and grab books written by foreign journalists and BBC if you cannot believe the books written by the coup plotters who were mostly young Igbo officers and Yoruba and other tribes. The coup leader was Maj. Chukwuma Kaduna Nzeogwu. They also had Yoruba, Ijaw, Tiv, Hausa, Bororo, Idoma, etc officers amongst them whom the Nigerian government later hid to ensure the world see the coup as Igbo coup they tagged it to kill Aguiyi Ironsi and to also justify the 1966 pogrom against Igbos. The coup plotters made their intention known- they did it to cleanse Nigeria's first corrupt indigenous government headed by Zik and Tafawa Belewa, and mostly due to the political turmoil in Western Nigeria between Awolowo and Akintola which led to arrest and jailing of Awolowo. And they did it to free Awolowo in order to make him President but Aguiyi Ironsi, Ojukwu and co foiled the coup. 3 Likes |

travelwaka: please don't 're write history for us here on nairaland...Aguiyi irons did not organised the first coup in Nigeria and no where in the world is coup organized! The first planned coup in the Nigeria was carried out by 5 majors led by Major Kaduna Nzeogu, which the north see as an igbo coup hence they a counter coup was carried out which led to the overthrow of the ironsi military administration. anyway, thanks 1 Like |
