Hello House, I was considering Pursuing a career in the Stock market. However, after making some basic researches, I observed there are two professional bodies recognised in Nigeria; the chartered institute of stock brokers of Nigeria (CIS) & the association of certified international investment analysts.
CIS is obviously the National Body while the ACIIA is international. However as an aspirant with little or no knowledge of how these professional bodies work it is very important to ask around to get first hand information about the pros & cons of getting any of these certification from experienced people.
your suggestions would go a long way in shaping my 2020 breakthrough. thank you in anticipation

Let me be honest with you, don't waste your time with anything associated with CIS. Unless you already have a job in a stockbroking firm, avoid them like a plague. CIS is not an exam you write thinking you will get a job after passing it.

Stockbroking is more of sales/marketing than investment management. Other firms in the finance sector will not even touch you with a long pole. If your interest is in investment management, consider getting an internship with an investment bank or similar firms (other than a stockbroking firm) and/or enrol for the CFA. ICAN or ACCA is also good.

CIS is useless. Don't be deceived by the CIIA route. They have stopped conducting this exam regularly. Less than 10 Nigerians have it since 2010 when it first came to the country, nobody passed out of 69 candidates that registered for the exam that year. Most of these folks have moved on to acquiring the CFA. Even one of the CIIA holders I know had to write CFA to remain relevant. In fact, CIS staff themselves are trying to discourage interested CIIA applicants through subtitle means; after collecting their money of course.
