Nigerian School System by curiousgirl24: 4:40pm On Jan 14, 2021
I'm an American writer who is interested in learning about Nigeria and how things work there. I wanted to ask what is the school system like there? What is public and private school like? What are the gender roles and expectations of men and women in Nigeria? How is Nigeria different from America?

The educational system of America is far better than that of Nigeria and the gender roles is light years ahead especially for the northern part of Nigeria. The northern part of Nigeria educational system is nothing good to write about, I don't know if you have researched about the almajiri type of schooling been practiced up north which shows a smoke screen path how far there educational level are. This is due to sharia law been practiced over there and the lackadaisical approach of their government . The gender role is nothing good to write about as their government keeps a blind eye to that ( that is the girl rights).

The southern path education system is fairly good not to mention the incessant strikes ( this usually affect the whole country educational system especially the universities).
The right of the female child is of a big priority especially in Lagos State but their are some few exceptions or cases.
Public-private school
Lagos public schools are cynosure in which other south west states copied right from the era of Jakande ( past governor of Lagos state) coupled with that of chief awolowo ( as he was the premier of the south west protectorate - he introduced free mass education in the region-) as these was the period of mass free education system of the whole south west of the country which birthed a whole enlighten future generations..
The south east during the era of awolowo( note awolowo he his the premier of the south west not south east) where still been collecting money as tuition fees even thou is a public schoool.

I rest my pen
