fortunate bread 350, or indomie 5Packs 500, egg half crate na 950, sandine lets say 2 will cost 800 so sure the Nigga get tea for house. Please reason, if he wants her to cook indomie and egg he wont surely give her 4k, don't try to form here aunty, she FK, and even why can't she ask what her man feels like eating instead of just displaying her laziness.

If you can't open mouth to say what you want to eat, whatever I cook, you better eat it ooh.

RED FLAG! RED FLAG as people do say. Is there any perfect man/woman without any blemish during courtship?

Many people will continue to follow Nairaland advices meanwhile, most of them don't follow what they preach here in real life.

99% of woman are problematic but we just have to look at their positive side sometimes and manage them.
Oga Manager, keep managing oo, until they give you poison to eat.

Sabi guy, see a red flag like that just run because if you ignore and go ahead, nah spoilt food you go dey eat.
But some sissy dey get mind o, you complain of hunger and the guy gave you money to cook, u buy the stuff home but later notice a spoilt tomatoes instead of telling the guy we need a new tomatoe as you mistakenly buy a rotten one which will the stew but you go ahead to cook with it for him and refuses to eat when you were d one that wanted to eat.
Let me tell you, both guys/ladies no matter how one hide his/her attitude, there will always a little thing that he/she can't hide.

A lot of impractial people all over the place....

You should better order a wife from Jumia or Konga than disturbing our peace because I am struggling to see how you can get a textbook wife without faults...

This is something a heart-to-heart discussion could have fixed but you chose to display some infantile petulance...

Are you infallible yourself?

You guys were still dating....She was not your wife yet so there are still bound to be some individualistic predilections or selfishness.

take a break first .....did he tell her that he didn’t have foodstuff at home ? “Cook what to eat “ different from “buy foodstuff “... who in her right sense will use 4K to cook Indomie,,egg and sardine for two people ... You seem to be proving smarter than ur age ..... But it’s just too obvious that you are silly

How do you know he has foodstuff at home? Besides the instruction to cook what to eat without his input will surely depend on what she feels like eating.

okay fine ,, let’s assume he didn’t tell what to eat....As a woman , can you cook such meal ( for two people) with that amount of money? ..... here is my observation,,, she didn’t cook the meal with all the money ,, she most certainly pocketed the balance ...... Breaking up with her isn’t my business (could be a flimsy excuse) ..

Get sense a little, u complain of hunger, guy gave u moni to cook, you bought the stuff, prepare it and notice a bad tomatoe but u ignore as well as the guy because the guy things once fry then it be ok. You finish cooking but refuse to eat because of the bad tomatoe.
If overlook, the guy go dey eat spoilt food cook by the wife while she go out to eat outside.
Get sense before it will be you.

I don't understand, if it was a Saturday morning, all she bought was ideal cos it's a weekend, some peeps grew up or are used to eating bread, egg and tea in the morning even if it is Saturday or Sunday, so I see no wrong in what she did, if he had told her what to prepare, that would have been a different case entirely.
Why would she use a total of 4k to buy foodstuff that would last them only for the morning? It's a thing that has to do with common sense, especially for a lady. Even though he wasn't specific, at least she should have asked him what he wanted. From what she bought, it's clear she was being selfish because they are probably her favourites. However, the guy was too hasty with his decision and probably didn't love her to be patient enough to correct her.

what I deduce from the story is that the girl initially wanted to sleep in the guys place before she went to. the market ,on reaching the market she met an old boy friend whom she booked appointment with that night and she came back cooked and rush out to meet up with her appointment and did not want to waste her time eating, meanwhile the guy she cooked for was Hot and felt let down by the girl action, suspecting she is seeing some one else, both of them knows tomatoes or food is not the issue here.

Is there any harm in asking your partner what he wants to eat if he doesn't say it first?

Breaking up with her over that was flimsy, I agree. But, I don't entirely blame the lady. I apportion blame to both parties.

He left money and asked her to cook what to eat and what she cooked was food, as he requested. Not specifying the type of food is on him since he wanted a specific meal. She might have cooked breadfruit or beans and plantain with that monry. Would he have rejected that?

The part I blame the lady is in the cooking. If I don't know what to cook and he didn't say what he might like, I won't even bother.

There isn't, but there are times when he simply doesn't know. You can suggest in times like these, but if you don't ask, how would you know?

It's this 'wokeness' that'd be the end of many marriages.
Do not be surprised to hear the man can actually cook. I believe the person you quoted meant that, if as the woman in the house, if cannot think of something better to do with 4k other than bread and eggs and indomie(meals that the man probably ate to stupor during the week) then something is wrong!

dominique:

What is his own usefulness if he cannot prepare a meal by himself? He knows exactly what he wants to eat, why can't he go and source for it and make it. Cooking is no longer a gender role, it's a basic survival skill. I don't blame him though, it's the stupid girls that turn themselves into maids in the name of relationship that I blame
