From my observations over the years, I don't think these male nollywood stars are paid more than N5,000/movie, their lifestyles show they live in poverty and the public is easily the place they run to when they need help unlike their female counterparts. I have never seen a female nollywood star begging the public for financial help. Something urgent needs to be done to save our male nollywood stars before they go into extinction.

How can you say they're doing the same work? Of the three names above, Ramsey Noauh is the closest to poverty. Someone with 92 subscribers is def. not doing the same work with Funke Akindele or Mark Angel.

This is a spiritual attack. Sometime last year during the heat of Odumeje VS Witch-doctors rage, I watched several videos of the juju men warning nollywood actors to shun scenes cajole natives doctors as negative forces and bad omen, cos that’s the tradition before the advent of the White man/Christianity, it was how we fared.
It was the african tradition inherited from our fore-fathers, that if they don’t stop their media propaganda, strange aliments will befall them and they will die off like chickens.

You want the male actors to be as wealthy as the females but how many people here follow the male actors on social media? The most followed Nollywood stars are all females. In fact, no male actor made the list of 20 or 30 most followed Nollywood stars, yet you want them to be as rich as the females? Isn't that stup!dity?

Of course, more fans on social media means more endorsements. Many female actresses get huge deals. Even those who aren't nollywood stars get as much as 5m to advertise some bleaching cream and waist trainers online.

This is how the female stars make their monies. Stop the blame game. Nobody will pay any male nollywood star or veteran when all you have is 15k followers on Instagram or Twitter.

You all should stop whining and think for a minute. Meanwhile, the world is evolving, you should too. Emmanuela and Mark Angel currently make more money than any Nollywood star in the history of Nigeria. No one comes close, not Omotola, Genevieve, not Funke Akindele.

There are many ways to make money with your talent in the new age. A veteran without a YouTube channel or social page will die in severe poverty. There's no doubt about that.

How do you explain the fact that Mark Angel and Emmanuella make more money than any Nollywood star in Nigeria? Emmanuela also engages in prostitution? She's cashing out from the corrupt system? You think YouTube operates like Cubana?

YouTube, Facebook and others do not pay talented and famous people, they pay those with higher views.

Anyway, the image below explains my views. If a veteran like Ramsey Nouah is still struggling with 1m IG followers, then something is evidently wrong. How can he monetize his movies with this mediocre figures?

We will continue to blame the "nollywood system" (whatever that means) while others are cashing out from legit systems like YouTube, Facebook, IG, even Netflix.
