There is no equivalence there. Men don't pretend that they marry for love. They say outright what it is they actually marry for, banging body, a working class financial helper (as you pointed out), a green card etc.

Women on the other hand, never admit that they marry for money, even though that's all they marry for in reality.

Bro, it had nothing to do with lying. Women lie to get married all the time; from number of sexual partners to hiding children out of wedlock; and they know how that works. It's not a sin in their eyes. The problem is that he lied about how much money he had. If he had really had a duplex and lied about something else, she wouldn't have divorced him. A man can lie about anything to a woman and get away with it as long as he doesn't deceive her about how much material things he has; that is what a woman would consider an unforgivable sin.

The woman is very stupid to marry someone she didn't visit to know where he lived! No sane person would just marry someone they only met at eateries without fully knowing the person they intend to spend the rest of their life with! She deserved what she got!
