Kwara can be confusing due to its dual heritage.

Fulani have been present in the state for hundreds of years, Yoruba from the SW, due to proximity have moved into the state for economic reasons. Thus, the number of those from the SW geopolitical zone is high in some of the southern fringes of the state, however the state is a Northern state not a SW state.

Fulani are plenty in Kwara and to an extent the state is more Fulani than Yoruba, this is why it is in the North and not the SW.
