What amuses me most is the curfew in place during the day. These guys are masters in night attack. The Igbos who are always at the receiving end should flee for their safety as the government of Goodluck Jonathan is confirmed to be incompetent as regards internal security.

The simplest solution to the problem is to announce results that only reflect the wishes of the electorate. Buhari won the election in all the northern states, whereas jonathan had same in the south-west and parts of south-south. Elections have never been held in the south-east since the commencement of the exercise. All the south-east figures are inflated. But the pdp has decided to set the nation on fire. I weep for my country.

Now who is to blame for the violence, why didn't you tell gej to stop using money politics and highwire manipulation, isn't he smart enuf to know the north is volatile, the same way there was wild wild west n the south west , can someone show me how goodluck got 428,392 votes in katsina state.if you notice,in almost all northern states, gej has a steady and perfect share of 25%.is it a coincidence or something fishy is going on somewhere why is he instigating violence in the north by putting together one of the most sophisticated rigging heist in nigerian history.kudos to sahara reporters for exposing this. When the people in zaria protested and almost caused a breakdown of law and order, because the emir of zaria received a 500 million gift from gej.didn't he get the picture.gej has been bribing northern elites and has carried out a sophisticated, yet almost believable electoral heist in the history of nigeria. You people don't know the high wire meetings gej had to manipulate the elections n the north.now sahara reporters is the enemy, mtscheew ,I pity nigerians who just can't stand the truth. Your man who promised to transform nigeria, has transformed the electoral landscape into money politics, high wire rigging, falsified results, etc . Now its backfiering on him. I don't support violence , but gej and his pdp thieving politicians are to blame for starting a high profiled rigging heist.

Buhari is even very lucky to have gotten the number of votes he got in the SE.

I am sure that it is only some the abokis residing in the East that voted for him.

So what will ibo do if al-majiris killed them like chicken even when there is no civil war going in Nigeria ? The fact is that the hausa/fulanis see the ibo as a weak tribe incapable of having a say in Nigeria politics.I just hope they can leave and come to SW where we can always accomodate them.

Thank God you are safe. May God continue to protect you guys.
Let us should stop justifying these ridiculous acts of violence by accusing PDP of rigging. This is false. If anything, CPC rigged this election massively with underage voting and polling unit campaigns. Now they want to start their normal blood-letting under the guise of political grievance.

Why people of the south could not vote for BB and allow the 8yrs power to shift back to South in 2015 still surprises me? Tribalism and conflicts would cost GEJ's government. This government would be the worst govt we can ever imagine, ppl should go and write it down.[/s]

Northern Nigeria vs Southern Nigeria.

The country is split and has always been.
This clearly showed during this election.

A referendum on the break-up of this entity called Nigeria must now be considered.

In fact if the north are so unhappy then why cant they take the lead and ask for the country to be split in a civil manner.

The north should be allowed to govern themselves but not the rest of the country.

The mutual hatred between the two regions will never dissapear.

Riot broke out after a police officer in northwest Nigeria's Katsina State killed a man and wounding two others.

Security sources told Xinhua that the killing of the man sparked protests with the smashing of windscreens and burning of tires on a major street.

A police officer fired his rifle Sunday afternoon and killed a man and wounded two others while trying to defend himself as the victim's friends tried to force him from police grip.

The wounded were a man and a woman, the source said, noting that they were receiving treatment in one of the general hospitals in the state.

The police officer was said to have gone to the Kofar Marusa Quarters on patrol and was trying to apprehend a man as a suspected drug peddler. But some of the suspect's friends tried to force him from police grip and the police officer's gun went off, firing several rounds of ammunition.

The incident led to protests, as youths took to the streets, demanding that justice be done over the killing. They burnt tires, smashed windscreens and wielded various weapons as they marched on the streets.

Some people, seizing opportunity of the protests, broke into shops and carted away valuables that are yet to be quantified in monetary terms.

But the timely intervention of army and policemen kept the situation from escalating.

State police commissioner Ibrahim Moh'd expressed his displeasure over the incident and summarily dismissed the corporal. He described the victim's death as unfortunate and his killing unwarranted, adding that the officer would be charged to court for murder.

He appealed to people of the state to remain calm and go about their normal businesses.

On his part, the police officer said he did not deliberately kill on the victim but fired out of self defense.

He said some youths numbering about 50 and carrying dangerous weapons, had attempted to kill him and other policemen.

He told reporters that he regretted the shooting and asked the police and court to treat him with mercy.

Pataki:

That does not solve the problem. Increase, bold and shout in capital letters, it does not solve the problem already created.

House arrest or room arrest. . . . it does not preclude those Northern youths from still protesting and vandalising anything PDP. We all know that when Jonathan went to Nasarawa, he was stoned there, only to now see that he won in the same Nasarawa state. . . .I laugh in Ijaw accent.

The mistake has been made inflating figures for Jonathan. . . . the logical thing now is: what is the way out?

You think arresting Buhari will solve this problem? Sit down and think again!

True, arresting him now might actually aggravate the the problem! But compelling him forcefully to come out and tell his suppoters to be calm would be in the right order!! Sadly Pataki, if you, a Buhari supporter were caught by these CPC supporters, you would be vandalized alongside anything PDP for the simple fact that you are a "Kufir". I was on Buhari fanpage  yesterday and all I could see from comments there is an Islamic movement!!

Your talk about Nassarawa says clearly that you know little about many parts of Northern Nigeria. Nassarawa is a largely Christian state. Same with Taraba, Adamawa, Plateau, Benue and to a lesser extent Niger, Kaduna and Kogi. The results from these elections clearly point to voting on ethnic and religious lines so there was no way Buhari was going to win on this one!!

Your talk about inflated figures is absolutely untrue. I voted in the south south. My polling booth recorded a 70% turnout. About 520 votes cast out of about 700 + registered voters. The votes cast were PDP: 479. ACN: 17: CPC:12. This pattern corresponds perfectly with the results as announced by INEC. HERE: http://nigeriaelections.org/presidential.php
Before you start screaming inflated results why not ask those that voted in the SS and SE what turnout was like and use scientific means to crosscheck with what has been reported by INEC. IF at all anything, you will find that the NorthWest had overinflated registration figures but couldn't double vote because of the voting pattern applied. I don't even want to mention the underage voting. I will just let that pass.

And lastly, Jonathan would still have won even if he didn't get a single vote from the SS and SE. Do the maths broda!! There is a 11 million vote difference btw Jonathan and Buhari and the total number of voters in the SS and SE isn't up to that. This was a trouncing and those violent folks should learn to be good losers.

Unlike many here, you're the ODD one out as you choose NOT to reason outside the box. Let's take it one step at a time based on what we've read from here so far.

You claimed it was about Northen PDP leaders, right? Now who is being attacked, the Northern PDP leaders? Yet it isn't tribal or religious. Who are majority of the people that have been attacked and tell me what the have in common if it isn't being NON-Hausa or Christians or that they must have noticed them to be supporters of another political party. Yet it isn't religious or tribal.
Please come up with a better point and my concern is for the innocent souls out there and these victims of circumstances and by victim of circumstances, I also mean people that are traditionalist and pagans and rubbed of to be Christians that most fanatical Muslims detest.

I weep in my mind!

Then you start killing the opposition for not voting for your party. that is what I call madness to the highest order. And if you support the killing then your more insane than the perpetrators

@4everGod. This is super. I am also a Yorubaman but I do not see anything GOOD in Goodluck, he is nervous, no confidence such character cannot lead a state like Nigeria of people with smart ideas who mostly channel them to crook ways. Everything he has done before the election is graft in cash and kind, even if a madman comes to pledge his loyalty, he will surely go with "egunje" Nigeria has been customized with corrupt practises and the mentality has been passed to the unborn, you are infected so am I. I did not know how to live a normal life without cutting corners until I traveled out, let me tell you, the root of all our problem in Nigeria is corruption. Corruption encourages laziness, lackadaisical attitude to work because the mind is set to have a reward at the end of a duty, legal or illegal.

There is no way things can work like this. If we can wrestle the society from the grip of this syndrome called corruption. PHCN will work, Refineries will work smoothly and importation of petroleum products will cease, credible candidates will emerge after elections, unemployment will reduce, those companies closing down will flourish; they die because their board members are corrupt and so on,

How do we achieve this? We need a BETTER THIEF because a day healing is not enough for a madman, there will still be exhibition of some traits sometimes. Mr. Fashola is a good example. The society is being characterised with corruption as a normal way of life and it is this society that produces the expected leader however starting like this will help us until we get to people that can lead and have zero tolerance for corruption.

Mr. Goodluck does not have this quality and the antidote to the corruption's venom, he does not have. This is the reason why my heart goes to BB. The antecedents are there for Buhari and for Bakare, the same GEJ was at it again( Corruption Crusade) when he tried to bribe him and his team but they rejected.

Nevertheless, I am not in support of violence, if truly GEJ won on credible note, so be it. Nigerian have decided to put themselves in SELF SLAVERY for another 4 years. The CPC supporters should learn to be a good and discipline sportman; if he looses, he takes it as the day is not his. Voting on the basis of religion or region cannot solve our problems until we learn to reason logically that is when we are getting our deliverance from the so called selfish leaders. Corruption has to be tamed now, I say now or else Nigeria is doomed.  Ose jare 4everGod, adara fun eh. Please leave me with my opinion in case it does not align with yours, another 4 years is ahead of us, after that I can take your insults. Thank you.
