In response to the clarion call of the Vice-Chancellor, Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike, Ebonyi State, Professor Sunday Elom, appealing to good-spirited and philanthropic individuals, and the organized private sector (OPS) to use the institution as one of the places for their Corporate Social Responsibility (CRS) and other mutually-benefiting investments, the President of the AnyiChuks Foundation Worldwide, Chief (Dr.) Ifeanyichukwuma Odii has promised to do one of the best projects ever sited in the University.

The business mogul made this known yesterday when the President of the Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike Women Association (AE-FUNAI WA), Dr. Mrs. Chinyere Elom visited him at his country home, Isu in Onicha Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

While recounting his various philanthropic projects in different parts of the country, Chief Odii noted that he was a humanitarian by nature, adding that the Anyichuks Foundation was founded about 15 years ago to provide succor to the downtrodden.

On that note, he stated that he would do one of the best projects in the University, adding that he would pay a visit to the Vice-Chancellor in that regard.

“The Vice-Chancellor should always count on me. I will support him because he is our own. Tell him that I will do one of the best projects in the University”, adding “I will pay him a visit in no distant time.”



He further explained that he was interested in education because it is the only way out of poverty, noting that he is a member of the Governing Council of the Lagos State University. He also said that his Foundation has over 1000 indigents that have benefited from their humanitarian work, especially in the provision of houses and scholarships.

Earlier in her opening remarks, the President of AE-FUNAI WA, Dr. Mrs. Elom had lauded the philanthropic work of Chief Odii, even as she also used the opportunity to call on him to extend his milk of human kindness to the University by intervening in some key areas such as in the construction of students’ hostel, construction of some houses for staff quarters and construction of internal roads.

“I have heard about all the good things you have been doing. I am here to thank you, and to appeal that you extend your goodness to the University

“The University needs assistance in the areas of internal road network, students’ hostels and staff quarters”, she stated.

Dr. Mrs. Elom also assured him of the support and friendship of the University, saying “Your Excellency, be rest assured that you are now a friend of our University, and the Vice-Chancellor will give you the necessary support to ensure that your plans for the institution are actualized.”
