nah....the label from the one you already know must go to one of the two unknown boxes

That's what I said/meant.

Obviously once you have taken one correct label to the box you have identified, you then have two boxes that are incorrectly labelled. You simply swap them

Let me just answer no 1. Two babies are born daily. A boy and a girl.

I saw this Interview Questions on Glassdoor and I just felt it might be very useful to some of us given that most companies especially in Nigeria like copying these big tech guys. We all know that Apple is one of the biggest Tech companies in the World and to get a job there wouldn’t be so easy.

Glassdoor decided to make this easy by providing some questions Apple Inc uses to select their employees – I would be revealing 3 questions here that I feel are more brain tasking and require more brain knowledge. Is your brain equipped to answer these Apple’s Job Interview Questions? If Yes? Let’s do this smiley

1. How many children are born every day?

2. If you have 2 eggs, and you want to figure out what’s the highest floor from which you can drop the egg without breaking it, how would you do it? What’s the optimal solution?

3.You have 100 coins laying flat on a table, each with a head side and a tail side. 10 of them are heads up, 90 are tails up. You can’t feel, see or in any other way find out which side is up. Split the coins into two piles such that there are the same number of heads in each pile.”

4. There are three boxes, one contains only apples, one contains only oranges, and one contains both apples and oranges. The boxes have been incorrectly labeled such that no label identifies the actual contents of the box it labels. Opening just one box, and without looking in the box, you take out one piece of fruit. By looking at the fruit, how can you immediately label all of the boxes correctly?

So who can answer any?
1. nil, no children are born every day. Just once.
2. The eggs will break once there's a given distance between them and the floor. If u put the eggs in an inflated balloon, u can literally drop from any floor without them breaking. That's the optimal solution.
3. Juggle coins and split in equal half. Each will contain equal heads and tails.
4. If u pick an orange, check d weight. U can easily feel which box contains which and a mixture.

1 is easy. Take Population growth X over N number of years and divide x by N365.

2 seems incomplete

3 relying on probability, simply randomly separate the two piles and hope for the best grin

4 is easy. the boxes are wrongly labelled. So once you know one, it means you simply reverse the labels on the remaining two.
You try

2) If you have 2 eggs and you want to figure out what's the highest floor from which you can drop the egg without breaking it, how would you solve it?
Start dropping the egg from the lowest floor and gradually start moving towards a higher floor.

Obviously, you can reuse an egg if it's not broken (note that it is not mentioned in the question that we cannot reuse)

The floor no. where the egg brakes on dropping is the answer.

Note that this entire process can be carried out with just one egg as you are reusing the same egg.

Edit : The floor, just below the floor from where the egg brakes on dropping, is the answer.

1) There are 250 babies born in every minute”, according to Lucy Lamble.

The United Nations’ data proposes there were around a billion people in 1800, it reaches to 2 billion out of 1927, it became 5 billion out of 1987 and simply over 7.5 billion as of today.

There are on average around 250 infants brought into the world every minute – in excess of 130 million of every a year. It is projected that there will be 11 billion individuals by 2100, added Lamble.

Let's do the computation:

There are 1440 minutes in a day, 1440 times 250 equals to 360,000.

There will be 360,000 babies born in a day.

By looking at the fruit, how can you immediately label all of the boxes correctly?

So who can answer any?

1. Two (Male and female)

2. The OPTIMAL solution is the Ground floor even though they could be a height just slightly above the ground in which in it wouldn't break( e.g in petroleum production you may have the capacity to produce maximally at a certain flow rate but at that flow rate you are NOT SURE about the safety of your drill pipes you then rather use a OPTIMAL flow rate (lower than maximum flow rate) where you are SURE of the safety of your drill pipes and downhole equipment) that optimal flow rate is akin to the ground floor in our question the only place we are sure the egg wouldn't break

3. Separate them into two pile of fifty each( every coin has a head and tail)

4. If I pick an apple and it is labelled apples I replaced the labelling with apples and oranges then swap the other two labelling (they are all labelled wrongly) if it were labelled apple and arrange I replace the labelling with apples and swap the other two. The same plays out if I pick an orange
Re: Can You Answer These Tricky Job Interview Questions From Apple Inc? by Ten06(m): 6:33pm On Apr 14, 2021
3) Pick any 10 coins and make a small pile. You now have 90 coins in a pile (call it pile A), and 10 coins in a new pile (call it pile B). You don't know where the heads are, but you do know that there are 10 of them in total, and therefore however many heads there are in pile A, there is 10 minus this many in pile B.

Let's do an inventory:
Pile A contains:
- n heads
- 90-n tails

Pile B contains:
- 10-n heads
- the rest tails. How many tails exactly? Well out of 10 coins, 10-n are heads, which means the number of tails is 10-(10-n) = n tails.

Wait...what? pile A has n heads, and pile B has n tails? So we know that there are always the same number of heads in pile A as there are tails in pile B, even if we don't know exactly what number that is? So flip over all the coins in pile B. We now have the same number of heads in both piles.

4) This is a difficult question to understand. Let me clear it out:

There are three boxes, and all three are marked incorrectly. So let's assume:
Box 1: (labelled) Oranges
Box 2: Apples
Box 3: A+O (Apples + Oranges)

You have to pick a fruit from the box marked 'A+O' to verify.

If the fruit is Apple:
(i) The label would be either A+O or Apple.
(ii) As all the labels are incorrect, change it to 'Apple'
(iii) Change the 'Orange' one to A+O, and the 'Apple' one to Orange

If it is Orange, the same process, but vice-versa.

Hope it helped, took half an hour trying to solve, verify if still in doubt.

So who can answer any?

1) roughly estimation of one child for every seconds
2)the floor which the egg is constant
3)split and label afterwards. Coins which can't be differentiated through feel, sight, are headless and tailless
4)first is to carry each box, move and shake them without opening. The box with apples will have a regular movement which I will set aside. The one with only orange will have a regular movement which I will set aside. The one with both apples and oranges will have irregular movements which I will set aside and label immediately. Then I will open any of the two remaining boxes, bring out one content and label appropriately based on the content then the remaining box is surely opposite of the second label. Thank you.

The answer to question 2 is to throw the eggs upwards from the ground. The highest level it reaches is the number of floors it can reach Without breaking

Very simple questions

3. Everry coin has a head and a tail. By simply dividing the coins into 2, you have equal number of heads and tails!

4. Simply label the box you opened correctly. Once you've done that, exchange the label on the other boxes since none of the boxes were labeled correctly!

Highest floor of what? Not dropping them at all cool

There'll be equal number of heads and tails in each regardless of how you select them as long as you have divided the 100 coins into 50 in each pile

If you pick out an Apple in one box, label the other two with oranges. You'd be half correct on one box
But if you have time, pick the the fruit out, weigh it and multiple by the number that should be in each box to get a proximate match to be sure of the selected fruit and compare with the weight of the other boxes noting that one box will have a differing number (the mixed box).

Atleast, I've attempted answering while y'all are speaking grammer cool
