Hello Nairalander's

I believe we all owe democracy a chance to grow and by doing so we need a platform for mental revolution. Our ways of doing things have over the years proved to be unconventional and insufficient to get the type of leaders we need.

Here is what I think we can do for a better Nigeria.

Recruit new politicians
This can be done by mobilizing youths to join political parties of their choice

Demonetize the election
Elections are too expensive to run and this alone is a financial drain to suitable candidates whose resources can't go round the 774 LG

Sensitization
INEC and National Orientation Agency owes Nigerians a great apology for not properly educating the citizens on this civic right

Mass voters registration
It is no longer news that INEC is sleeping on this responsibility. With their offices in all local governments in Nigeria, I believe it will make more sense to have a open door for voters registration, voters relocation and card collection even if these would be done once a week or once a month

Intellectual Campaign Guideline
A very important ingredient to grow our democracy is to have a campaign guideline which spells out reality and reduce vote buying. There are somany people that live on money shared during campaign. INEC should enforce a media strategy that help promote all candidates for equal visibility across the country, state or local government as related to the office being contested, mobilize citizens to rally, buy airtime for adverts and let journalist do the rest. Political parties should be allowed to run social media campaign on the candidates owned page and political parties page. This will create a level play ground for all and reduce stress on our security agents who are deployed to different rallies for same place.

There are many more points to add, but will appreciate a major deliberation around this topic

There is noting like our country. This contraption has been their estate and will remain until it is balkanized. The country has been detoriating since long time and It Is dead already. Dead cannot take medication. Your suggestions are medicine after death.

Bro forget Nigeria, we are now way past the restructuring palava. Nija cannot work. Will they leave our oil wells, will they take true federalism, No.
The system is designed to favour them.
