There were Israelis who were either jews or Christians. Some Israelis refused to convert to christianity even till today. There were also other immigrants from other parts of Roman empire. It was invasion by Arabs and construction of Islamic sites in mount temple that caused this age-long problem.

Palestinians are Arabs. That’s what Palestinians refer to themselves as. So you know Palestinians more than Palestinians know themselves? The only two major ethnicities in the region are Jews(Israel) and Arabs(Palestinians). They are descendants of Arab invaders of Jerusalem.

Technically and based on historical evidence, apart from Somalians (whom majority aren't Arabs but African), those are all Arabs.

Eventhough, the original communities that existed in the region they now call the Maghreb was all African.

Such however changed due to countless invasions from Asia and Europe making the demographic unrecognisable.
