Mehn, it is not easy to raise noiler, they poop much, are very aggressive and waste food. Though they have a very good resistance to disease and are very responsive to treatment

Please I am a first timer in noiler breeders, I bought 6 of 4 weeks old and another 8 of 5 weeks old from a seller with a week interval between them sometime in april this year, as we speak I have lost 5 of the second set bought and at the verge of loosing another one to infections/diseases. I tried to give them best of treatment in terms of hospitality and medication to the extent that the person selling the drugs to me said I have really tried in terms of spending on drugs. Whenever I complain to them and I am ask to get a particular drug I asked for the most effective of the drugs cos I see the boilers as my pet. The first thing I observed was that their dungs was reddish and I was giving drug to combat it, then I observed one of them has swollen jaw and an eye closed, and I was giving an antibiotics to administer to them all. After then I was asked to buy tonic which I bought and dispensed to them. Eventually the one with swollen jaw died. The unfortunate thing is that I am practising deep litter system and when I observed one of them is not agile, I do use 5ml syringe to administer the drug from the mixture and the noiler wont still survive. Of late I discover they were coughing and I bought crd drugs and administered for 5 days which ended on sunday, so I gave them tonic again, all for me to see one of them with swollen jaw and an eye closed again and it couldn't eat. I have administer antibiotics to it again and I isolated it. Please what can I do? Even if this one will not survive, I dont want the remaining 8 to have issues again. Thank u

Please noeloge82 look into this

From what I can deduce
1) you have a poor litre management
2) you are administering the wrong drugs

Because Noilers can do very well without much drugs.
If you don't already have try to get these drugs for them E.S.T mix wsp , coryl sp for the swollen eyes. Note this are drugs that have worked for me.

Buy corysp and give them for 5 days try and update progress report
And pls don't inject the birds with 5ml its too much and can kill them on the spot

Been long I updated... My birds are remaining 8 (1 cock +seven hen) and they are 17weeks 4days or 4months 1day today. I saw an egg this morning, but it was already broken before I could see it, and the egg shell is very soft, I can't trace the hen that lay the egg, but I will keep an eye on them going forward.

Do they lay eggs for commercial sale?

Weldone bro.
The Noilers are special breed with high resistance to diseases and unusual survival rate, infact, if you follow your poultry management regime, non would die self.

And for the consumers, it has a unique local chicken taste .

Yes but not as the layers. The female start laying eggs at about 5 Months and about 150-200 eggs per year. I don't see it economical for commercial egg production.

If u dont see 150-200 laying eggs per year lucrative, then how many do layers lay per year?
