HIS POST
thebosstrevor1:
The government of Nigeria brought a good idea of creating a cow route for herders, you people are busy crying foul.

The constitution of Nigeria, guarantee freedom of movement and trade, anyone can travel anywhere to live and trade.

If a igbo, yoruba businessman can go to the north to carry out his business, nothing stops a fulani man from carrying out his business in the south.

Stopping fulani people from moving and trading their cows from one part of Nigeria to another is an attack on their fundamental human right, if you can travel and do business anywhere in Nigeria, the fulani man should be also be able to do business anywhere.

You are all shouting fundamental human right when the government banned Twitter but you go about banning others from their own fundamental human right, that is hypocrisy.

Note: Fulani pay tax and rent, every cows transported to the south pay tax, from local governments tax to land rent and also tax per each cows.
MY RESPONSE
1. There is nothing like grazing routes for cows. We herd goats, pigs and rear chickens here and didn't ask FG for preferential treatments. Why must Fulani be given people's lands to graze cos they herd cows? Is cows better than pork?

2. Constitution of Nigeria guarantee freedom of movement for HUMANS not cows or any other animals.... Except you are equating cows to humans and giving them those rights, and if you do, then maybe you should check your brain for some glitches. Meanwhile pigs are prohibited in core Sharia states and we southerners living there are not complaining and we are even yet to ban your cows. We only banned open grazing for security reason. No one is against ranching your cows but you won't just do it cos u think you deserve the lands for free.

3. Igbo and Yoruba go to north to do business permissible by your religious laws despite being against the federal Constitutions. The constitution biding us together says we are a seculiar country but you still went ahead to make your own laws against Christians occupants. For example we can't sell alcoholic drinks and pork meats. So, we don't have freedom of business as you deceifully wanted to paint. You decide what you want to ban but still want to decide what we can't ban, is that not blatant hypocrisy?

4. No one is stopping Fulani ethnic stock from moving from north to south. All we are saying are simple:
a. Buy lands to do your business
b. Freedom of movement doesn't translate to freedom to trespass. Else thieves won't be committing offence by raiding homes.

5. Equating freedom of speech with trespass is so insane I can't just put a word on it and I don't want to call you names. There is no where in the constitution that freedom of movement was given to animals or freedom of movement was given to trespass on others people properties and investments.

6. And ur PS is pure BS, Fulani doesn't pay taxes or rents. They just enter forests and set up camps without buying those lands or take permission from the local authorities.

Overall
I think you guys are confused, most of the aggression coming from Fulani herdsmen stems from the fact that you think federal govt owns the lands and can give it to whoever it's likes. Biggest mistakes. The land use acts of 1979 puts the state govt in charge of the lands and federal govt have no rights whatsoever to dictate whatever the locals decided to do with it. That is why some of your educated fellows wanted to pass backstage to input ruga and water resources bills to short-change us. But in education, thinking and civility, the south are miles ahead of you guys so we casted devilish idea.

PS: And lastly, Buhari govt is not helping the Fulani, but u all think he does. What he is doing is turning the other ethnic nationalities against them and if not controlled Rwanda might just be a child play in few years to come.

Best legacy Buhari can give you Fulani is buying/renting ranches for you guys in the North. Ofcourse not with govt funds. He can only subsidize materials to help set you up else he will be held to do same for poultry farmers and pigries.

See below screenshot of Nigerian constitution for freedom of movements. Clearly stated for humans (Nigerians) not for any animals or trades.

Well written. In their hubris they think they own all land and others should just give them free reign. Well NO.

We don’t even need them to buy lands here in the South. Their hidden motives have been discovered no matter now much they try to paint or sweet talk this issue!

Bros change that your number 4, guys are now stopping any fulani herder in the south west, we are doing it gradually, we won't rent you a land let alone you buy one, whether they rent, buy land we are stopping them and once their grand patron leaves they would wish they weren't born cos they would be annihilated. So after all their evil they will still have mind to come rent or buy land for their fvuking cows sorry bros that won't happen.

The NW and NE are four times larger in land mass than the entire southern nigeria. Yet they are fighting for land in the south. It's obvious that fulani have an hidden agenda.

Buhari has made a lot of enemies for fulani people, this is 2021, u can't just bully people into submission, people don't just give up their land, they'll rather die than give up their ancestral homeland so the card the fulanis are playing will never work, not In million years

Your writeup, will not make any sense in the court of law.

The constitution is all that matters.

If you can move from your south to the north to trade, i can also move from the north to the south to trade.

The constitution guarantees the free movement of humans and properties...go and read the constitution

Properties include cows, spears parts, cars and lorries, any properties

It also gives states the power to regulate how things are transported and what property can be brought. This question has already been answered by the courts upholding the grazing ban. If you want to lose at the Supreme Court be my guest.

Mr. Herdsmen. Next time u want to quote people or engage in intelligent discussions avoid quoting me cos I will school you.

My position makes sense in any court of law that is why you guys find it hard to back your marauding attitudes with laws. Any laws that is not put into legal writings is no law, that is why the quota system SAN find it hard to prosecute twitter ban violators.

By the way, it seems you have your own constitution you wrote inside your bedroom. The free movement is for Nigerians (human) not trade or properties or animals. (See attached screenshot).

Unlike you, most of us down south know the laws of the land. Mr. Man, half education is dangerous and you are an example of one.

Too long

The US constitution which we copied guarantees a right to freedom of movement. It has never been translated to mean movement of cows
Government has the power to regulate business and movement by making laws and regulations

That is why you cannot ride a horse or Camel on 3rd Mainland Bridge

That is why you cannot start a poultry in a residential area

You must get a NAFDAC number before selling certain products etc.

So government has the power to say animals should only be moved about in vehicles and should not graze on private property

There is no right to free land.

Am I the law? Or u think like you, I will input whichever properties you can take along with free movement as stated in the constitution? Only cows behaves that way. Law is law! If you have no destination address you cannot move anyhow.

You cannot move to another person's property.

I cannot pack into the national Stadium with my goats and start living there

There is no place in southern Nigeria that is "no man's land" So if you trespass on another person's property you are infringing their rights
Freedom of movement applies ONLY to those places where there is a Public Right of Way and NOT on Private property
