Good afternoon, I saw a particular post about a jambite complaining about his scores at UTME. If only they knew what graduates know now, I am certain they might put jamb on hold.

If you are still young, don't be so worried. Look for a skill or trade and learn. Don't ever be ashamed about it.

If you think you are already getting old before securing admission, then In desperation you settle for a course that is not market worthy enough , there is a 99% chance that you'll question why you settled for such degree. Scrap that! There is a 100% chance that you'll regret it! During job interview the intervieer will ask you why you chose to study that course. Would you say you just settled for it because you were tired of waiting for admission?

I want to tell you a little secret, for government employment, there are no jobs for those who don't know somebody .Oh the president even said it there the government doesn't have any job. Pathetic uhun ? But you can still be luck with private sectors. It seems that's where God is helping those who don't know somebody

Also you need thorough career guidance before you gain admission. 'E get why I talk am'. You see, when you gain admission, your department will organize lectures to councel you and also tell you the importance of the course you have been admitted study.

They will tell you where you can work when you graduate. They tell you all sweet things and paint a beautiful picture. The reason is because, they want to make you happy and also boost your ego and self-esteem.

But here in lies the lies. During career counceling, you lecturer might tell you that you may end up working in the bank or big pharmaceutical industry even though you have been admitted to study HKE or Christian Studies.
He may even go some extra length to mention some names grin What he will never mention is their portfolio grin e get why. Everybody is not an accountant or bank manager in a bank.

You may have been admitted to study performing arts or even Geography. You lecturer might say you'll end up working as a lecturer in the United States citing Wole soyinka as an example. They might tell you Geography encompasses all aspects of life and hence you can work at NASA. They can even show you Google map and mention one Nigerian name grin

Of course you are all in 100level and won't be able to challenge the counceling. The quick reasoning ones will know that it's just a counceling charade.

Also I want you to know that God is necessary and every man's path is not the same. Struggle at your own pace but make sure you are progressing. Just because you failed jamb doesn't mean you can do anything again or you are growing so old. When you get to NYSC camp after graduation, you will see people who are way older than you
