am seeing integrated intel hd graphics 3000. and i thought these xps series normally do have dedicated radeon graphics

obviously it is the dedicated or discreet graphics card, because it has its own dedicated graphics memory, separately and not sharing, the memory depends, the least dedicated memory is from 512mb up to 1gb, 2gb e.t.c, its good for gaming, graphics designing and other professional uses, but you see, those intel hd graphics are sharing memory from the system ram, they don't have their own separate graphics memory, usually low memory like 32mb, 128mb dedicated, so its slower, it , only good for office and normal tasks.

I just read some articles about graphic card both on Quora, reddit and nairaland,I think most systems that use dedicated graphics card are gaming laptop and the are quite expensive

yeah. but it depends, most average laptops can have it, that's why we have entry level, medium and high end level graphics card. it depends on the specifications and price of the system. the graphics types are specifically targetted for various uses, for example radeon graphics are targetted for mainly gaming purposes, mostly found in gaming laptops, nvidia graphics and Amd fire pro graphics are targetted for autocad, engineering uses and professional designs, usually present in workstations laptop, because it has some features like shading cores, not usually in radeon graphics.

Yes nw, some laptops has two switchable graphics, Normally one dedicated graphics card and the standard intel hd graphics, with a switchable controller whereby the graphics will switch automatically by itself, for example if you doing a high demanding task on your laptop, that requires much graphics, like playing games, your laptop will switch to use that dedicated Amd R7 graphics. but if you are doing less tasks that doesn't involve graphics, like microsoft word, internet, it would be using that standard intel hd graphics Hd5500.

i talk am, i cant be wrong, because these xps are for extreme performances with higher configurations. that is a nvidia GT 525m graphics card. the dell xps uses two graphics card, intel and nvidia. but the nvidia graphics driver and control panel has not been installed yet. so its only seeing the standard intel hd 3000.
