No be 2 buy moto be the issue. Na maintenance. Depends if u have a good job/business, dis one u hv ruled out corolla. U can get almost any car wit that amount, but the grade will not be that good. What I look out for in cars is the body. If u buy the one wey filler full em body in little time it will be very bad. So buy a car them never work the body, if engine bad u can change the engine bt u no fit change the body. 2007 accord nko?

Between '05 - '06. The advantage is that it was jointly manufactured by Pontiac and Toyota and an exact replica of the Toyota Matrix (which uses a Corolla engine) and as such u don't have to worry about essential parts in the market.

Mr. Man, it all depends on where you get a car from. Most cars on jiji and even here on NL are valued way more than their market price. I can't buy a Pontiac Vibe for 2m+...

that Car's rear view and interior is too ugly for my liking, can't believe some people waist up to 1.8m to acquire that box.

I never said I was a car dealer. Just telling him my OWN opinion. I never claimed I knew any one who had for sale either.

He simply asked for what car he could get and I told him what I believed based on my experience. If he can't get it for 1.8, it's probably not gonna be too far from that either. Stop trying to put the onus on me just cos I contributed to the post biko.

You could import salvage cars and refurbish it. This could save you alot of money. These are 10 things you should be aware of when importing cars by yourself without a dealers license

Demand drives the automobile market and not because of quality. Pontiac Vibe was very affordable when people were not aware that it uses a Toyota Corolla engine, mechanical and electrical parts. However, in due course, potential buyers were informed by mechanics and car dealers about features of Pontiac Vibe in comparison of the "almighty" albeit the rolling box Corolla. Boom! The prices skyrocketed in a ridiculous manner.

Toyota makes good cars, no doubt, but the high demand for the Japanese brand makes it more expensive than other brands, and not because they are the best automobile manufacturer. There are other brands that are way better than Toyota/Lexus. Maintenance is the key for every car; just make sure you buy one in a good condition, whether Toks or Nigerian used.

Let me share my experience on Toyota Corolla 2006. I heard lots of testimonies and hypes about this car and its fuel efficiency, so i got one. It was so clean and it was toks too. Two months of usage, i had to change the shocks on the driver side. Another month after, i changed the shock on the front passenger side. Within a year i had changed 2 alternators, a key starter; it also had minor electrical issues. As a matter of fact, shocks were always bad. So i got tired of changing shocks and was just driving it with the noise. I also noticed that prices for its spare parts were ridiculously high compared to cars of the same class in other brands. Thanks to its demand. I kept asking myself: Is this the almighty Corolla?

So i sold the crap and got Honda Accord 2007 (I4 engine). My people, I'm enjoying my ride. AC is iced cold at the lowest setting, compared to the Corolla. The comfort and speed is out of this world. I do ask myself if I'm driving a V6. The fuel consumption is significantly low, but not as low as Corolla. The shocks are so good, i don't hear any noise from the suspension. The ride is so quiet and smooth. I noticed the spare parts are more cheaper than Corolla.

Lastly, don't ask me about ball joints. It gives signs way early enough for a driver to change it. But the adamant drivers will drive theirs till it falls off.

MAINTAIN YOUR CAR PROPERLY, AND IN TURN IT WILL TREAT YOU WELL.

I drive Camry 2000 the suspension of that car it's a major issue, apart from that, in a year I don't change anything apart from normal servicing. I have never entertained any fear when traveling. But because of the suspension issue am tempted to switch back to Honda, probably Honda accord 2007.

Wow, that's an interesting insight into your personal experience with a corolla. I always knew that the utopian testimonies of corolla users had hidden downsides, albeit people praise the vehicle mostly for it's undoubtable fuel economy, just as you rightly mentioned.

I have always been the type to not like whatever is too common, that, coupled with the abnormal demand and pricing for its parts makes it another issue entirely but I reckon it's a Toyota thing in general.

What is this one saying? Which Corolla of 2006 isn't a high mileage vehicle in 2019, as at when i bought it? And what's so special about Corollas aside fuel economy? Is it the unending bad shocks? Or the bland and boring handling on highways?
