The NYSC Osun State Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) Branch has kick started their hands-on training after the flag off ceremony and Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP) lectures.

The 2021 Batch B stream 1 corps members have anticipated eagerly the commencement of the trainings as they are tailored towards the realization of the program's core objectives which are: to sensitise young graduates in skill acquisition and entrepreneurship development so as to make them self -reliant and help them realise the importance of acquiring a skill; to serve as a platform to connect corps members with other people who are experts in their chosen field in order to train them; to provide funding opportunities for corps members, and create room for partnerships that can benefit trainees' and the skill they have chosen.

Additional benefits are that they can also connect corps members with companies and organisations that will grow their businesses.

It would be remembered that the Head of SAED, Mrs Olowo Abosede had disclosed that the Unit has 12 sectors with 80 sub-sectors, and is more than ready to accommodate and cater for the different skills corps members may be interested in learning.

Some of the skills to be acquired include:
Agro-allied, Food Processing, Tie & Dye, Tailoring, Leather Works, Bead Making, amongst others.

The Hands-on training kick started on Thursday after an intensive EDP lecture and training.

The cardinal aim of the NYSC SAED is to make sure that Nigerian graduates have training in other skills apart from the one acquired in school.
