The Head of Gender, Servicom and Entertainment Mrs Caroline Adenle, has told the 2021 Batch B stream I corps members that the Yoruba Language is an integral part of their service year and the knowledge of which will make them to have a smooth sail.

She made this assertion on Monday at the Multipurpose Hall of the NYSC Orientation Camp, Ede where she highlighted the relevance of acquiring the language of their host communities.

She taught them about the use of simple and basic Yoruba language expressions. That is, how to express one's self in Yoruba language in common situations. She stressed the fact that greeting is a sign of respect and respect is considered an utmost virtue in the Yoruba culture.

It was an interactive session as she called out several corps members at intervals to recite the words she had taught them earlier.

Adenle taught them about the various forms of greeting in Yoruba language and then moved on to basic expressions like how to introduce oneself, identification of numbers, making simple sentences,parts of the body, days of the week and name of the month amongst others.
