I had to re-quote this post as APC plans to field a Muslim-Muslim ticket for next year's election. Little by little, the islamisation plan is moving.

Dude, either you are a prophet or you have links in Nigeria's political atmosphere: same way you rightly predicted Tinubu has a higher chance of winning.

Abeg give me forecast for the next 5 years let me plan accordingly. cheesy

It is just simple logic and the belief that things will always get worse in Nigeria. Together, one can easily predict Nigeria's future. I remember gisting Tensa20 three years ago that Igbo land will be Islamised, but he disagreed (hint: it will start from Imo state). Two years ago, on Twitter, I told the same thing to one dude based in the US who is interested in West African issues; he too disagreed. Today, both persons agree with me.

Honestly, anyone who listens to the news and keeps track of certain person's statements and then pieces one and two together, the person can easily predict the future of Nigeria and other West African countries.

My next prediction is: Should Peter Obi decline to step down, Tinubu will win the election convincingly. Peter has to step down and support Atiku so that traditional supporters of the PDP (South South and South East) will deliver bloc votes for Atiku. The 2023 election is a fight for Southern votes, not Northern. Tinubu, Kwankwaso and Atiku will divide northern votes but should Peter run, most of the SS & SE will vote for him, leaving Atiku with fewer votes; thus, Tinubu carries the day.

Now, when Tinubu who will choose a Muslim as his VP (I asked this question: https://www.nairaland.com/6794669/question-tinubus-supporters and Northern Muslims are saying they cannot have a Christian represent them. Also note that Tinubu wanted to be Buhari's VP candidate in 2015 but Saraki and others kicked against it), I dare say Yemi Osinbajo will be the last Christian to be elected as president or vice-president as Muslims would have consolidated on that combination. Also, note that after Tinubu's eight years (once voted in, he cannot be voted out), power is expected to return to the north. Worse still, to ensure he wins next year, he would choose El-Rufai as his VP. Let me state it here: Buhari is wicked o but you see El-Rufai? Not only is he wicked, but he is also very intelligent. Do you know what it means to have a cruel, wicked but intelligent man as your VP and then president?

Atiku has to win: he would choose a southerner as his VP who will be a Christian, and he (Atiku) is way more liberal and a unifier than El-Rufai who will be the VP to a geriatric and Parkinson's laden man. Yes, he is a Fulani man like Buhari but this is choosing the lesser devil.

I agree with you, that the trajectory of this country is one where the Bokoharam/ISIS gain enough momentum where they can over power the nigerian Army or start power Sharing. Anyone who is not already understanding/accepting the realism of this is not a deep thinker.

Shekau has always been clear, Bokoharam's mission is to erase western education and bring ALL of nigeria under islamic Rule, This is their long term Goal and mission.

The group has gone very far from being splinter cells of a terror group to a Juggernaut that now controls large swats of territory in many . northern states, in partnership with ISIS which already is a sort of a Quasi government in Libya, Iraq and somalia. In other words its not wrong to say that Bokoharam is Backed by governments - People with infinite sources of money from Oil and taxes imposed on people living in the territories they currently control.

For you to understand the mindset of a typical bokoharam supporter, You have to understand that the Bokoharam fighters are fighting for what is right according to the Quran, they believe that by converting you to Islam they are helping you and your children unborn to save their souls to make it to the Kingdom of God. And they believe they are also doing this to Gain Favor in the Eyes of God. How can you stop a people with this type of resolve.

Any true muslim knows and believes that what Bokoharam is fighting for is right by the words of Allah,(although, they may not like How Bokoharam is going about trying to Achieve thier Agenda).

So how can Bokoharam fighters defeat the nigerian Military and overwhelm the north? Its happening before our eyes.

* The nigerian Military already is currently rehabilitating BH fighters and putting them in the military, if you remember that this is an Ideology, then you can understand that a Bokoharam fighter can never change.
* The Nigerian Military is Primarily based off the North of Nigeria. Armory, Training facilities, Planes, Jet fighters all domiciled in the north.
* There are more Muslims as top commanders and as foot soldiers in all of the three nigerian Military and even police. That explains the Arabic written words on the nigerian Army's Emblem, if truly Nigeria was a secular country or one that respects the existence of the christian populace, those words in Arabic wouldnt be there)

So all you need is a Military Chief of staff that shares the same ideals as bokoharam and is balsy enough to make a move, and boom, Non muslim top members of the military would be arrested, others would flee the country, foot soldiers who are unwilling to comply would be killed or also arrested and there you have it, the nigerian military machine is in the hands of Bokoharam, then they would start taking cities as you saw the taliban doing, those who accept islam would be spared, ISIS did the same in iraq and syria in 2015 or so i guess. That being the case, no southern state, stands a fighting chance, People who accept islam might be offered large benefits and believe it or not, that would cause alot of communities to convert, the same way a lot communities were made to renounce their ethnicity during the Biafran war. They could also start using political undertones to set the stone for a soft landing, pushing words like Afterall christianity and Islam are the same or its the only way for the party to win elections because the muslims are the only ones willing to vote. And thesame type of people you see defending bad politicians here on nairaland because of tribe and political party will be here to spin it and flip it so it doesnt come off as bad as its suppose to sound...with hundreds of likes on their post to make you believe that a lot of people are in support of the ideology.

Also, It may not be the all out aggressive way that you are thinking, it might be sort of systematic. They may look for a soft landing initially by saying something like after going through census, its clear that the muslim population of nigeria is now more than 60% and that they have declare that nigeria is now a muslim state just like malaysia, churches would now need special permissions to function. Then, slowly, slowly eat into every fabric of your daily life, until it becomes illegal to be anything but a "true practising Muslim", it was done in Iran in the 1940s.

If you think its impossible to have a radicalized muslim in a top military position, you should remember your current minister of communication who has professed his love for the ways of Bokoharam(Alqeada), If you can have that as an aid to the president, then anything is possible.

Once Plateau and Benue are overrun, the southeast and south south are next.

Posterity would judge us right for predicting these things before time.

It makes sense for them to attack the South-West, seeing as there's actually an active Muslim population there. Attacking the South-East and South-South would be a mission in futility. They'd NEVER take over those regions. Because they are easily identifiable in those regions.

No point attacking the southwest aggressively as the middle belt or Eastern Nigeria. The SW, I bet, has a slight Muslim majority. The political elites in the regions are largely Muslims. The region has a predilection for Northern Muslims. Inter-ethnic marriages exist broadly and without derogatory names as that between Yoruba Christian men and Igbo women = children with tainted blood.

Eastern Nigeria (SE&SS) has the highest number of Christians in Nigeria. Islamise the region and Nigeria becomes an Islamic Republic. Taking over the region should not be hard as the military is Muslim-dominated (the SE had the lowest number of applicants for military recruitment programs). The plan would be to cause unrest in the region, disrupting livelihoods and social activities. Currently, they have a large base in Imo, Enugu and Ebonyi. They will never leave those areas they have settled in. In twenty years' time, they will push for LGA positions and House of Assembly posts. With the federal backing, they will cause mayhem. They like mayhem o. Ask Lebanon, Jordan, Turkey, Egypt and Israel. Mayhem fast-track their taking over jihad. Mind you, there will be no Christian president or vice-president again after Osinbajo. He was the last Christian top elected official in the country. Henceforth, it will be Muslim-Muslim. Already, Tinubu will complete 8 out of 24 years of uninterrupted Muslim presidency.
