For me it is not bad and a welcome ideal to reach children every ICT skill they are willing to learn within the law governing the country.
But as a parent or sibling what will be your reaction if your child or sibling Errol for an ethical hacking program in his school?

Is it ok to teach ethical hacking as extra curriculum activity in secondary school?

What's your opinion about teaching kids ethical hacking.

Children of nowadays are smarter than their ages but still fall short of distinguishing what is right or wrong. Just take a look around nowadays, many young teens seeing no wrong in fraud related activities, It's even like an ambition to some.

My own take is as long as they are up to 18, and the emphasis is laid on the morality & consequences of using such skills. Fine.

If they used it to commit a crime & are caught? Yes.

I knew a situation where script kiddies attempted to use simple tools to disrupt their CBT based exams. These were 200 level computer science students, definitely older than 18, who just had a stint in a programming course. Don't let me mention the younger ones I was friends with.

It's all up to you. They'll benefit by getting knowledge to start ahead of their peers in this Tech world of nowadays but you must also consider the ramifications of some of them eventually using it for bad purposes.

With great power comes great responsibilty.
