What I Saw About Japan

For some time now I have been following up with Japanese culture through NHK. With what I saw and what I keep seeing, Japanese are just too mellow and unselfish. Japanese are selfless people. Every one cares about everyone well being, they care so much about everything. I could not detect greed in the life of Japanese people. This is the kind of society I desire to leave in, unlike Nigeria where everyone is so greedy and want more than they can shew.

I was astonished about Japan because I was born in a country whose people are so greedy. I have marvel for years why a people are so greedy and hungry for more.

It is not about our hunger and poverty, but our greed. Nigerians are just too greedy for my liking. Every one in Nigeria want to be rich and want to drive cars. I saw in Japan everyone seem to cares about everyone and not about materialism.

Many japanese people do not crave for wealth but seem content. Many things in Japan are made by hands, and everyone is humble and wants to do what they love. A craft man or a clay potter is proud of his work and wants his son to continue his legacy.

I saw that, Japanese people don't do things for money, they do things they love. No matter the humble and lowly work they do, they seem very happy to pass their humble skill to their next generation. In Nigeria people will look down on you base on what you do for a living.

I can speak Japanese even though I don't understand the language or know what I am saying.

Dammnnn: I fancy Japanese woman too and will like to doke one.

You're atypical Nigerian

It's one of the reasons I advocate for the splitting of the so called country and hope in the new countries that emerge we'll have things in place to checkmate the excesses of our previous lifestyle and reasoning

I don't know how the Japanese did it but their society operates on a very high spiritual frequency.

They may not be christian/muslim but they are one with nature and that is the peak of spirituality.

My hypothesis about the Japanese is that they are extremely disciplined and this has expressed itself in how they interact with humans and nature. The more disciplined you are, the more likely you are to be an exemplary individual.

In contrast, Nigerians are highly indulgent and lack self discipline, and if you cannot govern yourself you cannot govern others. We have a massive indiscipline problem in Nigeria, hence our many troubles.
Someone, comes into the bank and they want to be attended to immediately despite finding others on a queue waiting their turn; it is a fruit of indiscipline. Indiscipline breeds impatience, impatience breeds other vices like selfishness and greed amongst other ills.

Well Japanese women marry for financial security. A Japanese lady will marry you after making sure you can take care of all the financial responsibilities required by a family.
Hers is to be housewife and wear lacoste and eat at expensive cafes.

Japanese people crave wealth a lot just like us.
Wait till you visit Japan.

Japanese people do things for money as well, they have bills to pay.

Wait till you walk on Ginza street or Shinjuku street. Nigeria craze for sudden wealth is problematic. But in japan you can find something to do to earn money for your cravings

I love the Japanese too, their moral standards are way higher than all Africans together,Japan is a place where if you lost your phone or wallet I can assure you that you will get it straight away.

Leave anything valuable on the street and come back the next day and find it there intact.

Confucianism and Taoism bleeds into every fiber of their society. You don't have to be Christian or Muslim to live a good communal life. See we here that carry religion on top our brain, see our society.
It's nothing if you don't allow the good of your religion to influence you.

Interesting. I never even considered that.

How do you think we can foster a strong sense of community in Nigeria/Africa? We seem to love out community but our actions don't quite reflect this sentiment. A basic example is almost everybody throwing trash by the roadside leaving the neighbourhood looking dirty, we know it's wrong but still do it anyway.

Yes, I've read a number of accounts about this happening and I marvel each time. Not only will your wallet not be returned in Nigeria, there are people are actively trying to steal it from you

Hmm, honestly I don't know... Or I do know, but Nigeria's problem is multifaceted from the government ,down to the child that was born yesterday who will grow up to be influenced by those around, in the same way. It's a vicious cycle, to break am, e go hard die.

It's also worth it to say that those countries (Japan, Singapore, HK, S.Korea) managed to find a near-perfect blend of Confucian teachings with modern laws and rules. Now they aren't perfect, suicide rates for example is high in those places, but them try abeg... South Korea's history alone reach to make Nigeria's govt. never speak again.

Nigerians have values, we do. But value for mouth, lack of integrity for hand makes what....?

Thank you for sharing!
I appreciate you!!

Selfish peoples and greedy peoples are everywhere including in Japan.

Many Japanese peoples don't like if someone always ask you or demand you something they want you to do for them.
Mostly mind own business.
Maybe sounds like heartless or not kind.
But self responsibility is very important in Japan.
Everybody need take full own responsibility, at own risk etc.
Anything you should do it by yourself. Something like that.

So if someone need your help, but if that person doesn't try any effort before asked your help, many peoples will not help this kind of person. Many peoples don't care about this kind of person.

Self responsibility and do yourself whatever you have to do.
This is very very important in Japan.

Anyway, Thank you so much!
I'm always feel so happy whenever I saw peoples who like Japan and Japanese!
Always making me more love and more proud of my country and my peoples!(о´∀`о)
I really really appreciate you!
