I'm using this platform to Alert the public to a new scam by people claim.ing to be a fintech loan company.

They call themselves OTP INTERNET TECHNOLOGIES IN OREGUN LAGOS.

If you receive an SMS from this company just report to the nearest police station and petition the EFCC Immediately.

The Scam

You will get an SMS on your phone from them saying that so and so person borrowed money from them and has refused to pay.

The problem is you don't know this person neither are you aware of any loan or that the person used your name as guarantor for the fictitious loan.

The SMS will state that you should call the borrower and Inform them to pay up on a contact phone number or ask them to remove you as gurantor of the loan.

When you call the number it's either not reachable or remains unanswered.

Next day someone from their office will start calling to harrass you with some jargons that you will be part of the police case if so so person doesn't repay the loan.

When you ask them : Before you gave this person a loan and added my phone number as guarantor why is it you never called me to verify my relationship with the said person or take my permission before adding my number ?

No response.

The useless threats continue. Probably In the hope that you will fold and pay for loan you know nothing about, taken by person you have never heard of before.

I have since petitioned the EFCC and reported to a brother in DSS.

Please guys be careful, one doesn't know where they get your phone number from. Maybe from websites like nairaland.

Keep your personal info safe from criminal organisations like OTP INTERNET TECHNOLOGIES. They will pay dearly for this very soon.

The SMS is usually labeled N Kash

You cannot send replies to the sender.

The company otp internet technologies don't have any traceable address but EFCC will locate the criminals.

They have scam job openings on Linked in and other job sites.

Members of the public beware of job scams too.
