There was a time I came 1st position in class in primary school. I didn't know how it happened. All I can remember is my parents were very happy that they threw a party for me.

I attended one of the best primary schools in the neighborhood. Bamakaa international school, Alimosho. Those who live around Iyana-Ipaja and Alimosho axis should know the school.

I was in primary three then. We were twenty five in class and I had always happened between fifteenth and twentieth position. Our school usually has our report cards posted home directly to our parents. When my mum who received it at that term opened and I was first, she was overjoyed.

It was around my tenth birthday, April 28. I still remember it was a second-term result. My parents decided to throw a birthday party for me. I instantly became the envy of the compound and some few houses around. My brother, Binbol Wilson was pretty envious too.

My birthday fell on Saturday, and school was to resume the third term the next Monday. Our result cards were normally returned to school before resumption. That morning, while we were preparing for the party, around 11 am, my class teacher came...

She apologized and begged my parents, that there was a mistake on my result sheet. She had omitted "2" on my position. I came 21st, not 1st.
