Good morning house I'm having a rather confusing problem at hand;I'm an undergrad;so i live in a hostel in the north;university live has been rather sweet i beg to say otherwise though;my issue is my roommate is my (10 years older)elder brother;lately something basically became a trend with this guy he defecates and almost always forgets to flush;water isn't an issue in my hostel;we have enough water although the water system to the closet is bad we have water even in the toilet always;the recent act was just this morning,we had two full buckets of water in the bathroom;comrades my bro go shit again he no flush...me coming into the same toilet an hour later saw the whole place messed up;i know we all have our excesses but this is getting out of hand;this month alone i've flushed after him upto 7times;in this year alone i just cant count;it's embarassing to say the least!i called him out on it once with the most respect i could offer; he didnt even flinch or apologise he just went in there and flushed a shit you had like 30minutes ago..the whole toilet is messed up this days,to wash the toilet gan de vex me;the water is never neat cause this guy no go gree flush hin shit;i bought an air freshner because of this guy he no still grab..please house how does one tackle this matter? Shey na to report to our family or do i talk to him again? Or na until when he finally use am embarass us? Cause its becoming a weekly to more of a daily thing now; guyman go shit he go forget to flush..when you no be caveman? I'm not a neat guy myself but as much as sensible hygiene is coñcerned i try to keep up with the norms...please anyone that has tackled this matter before should kindly help me with a way out.

Nothing hurts so much than opening the toilet when you want to use it and seeing sb else’s Abednego floating.

If it was me, after I have flushed his foolishness couple of times... I'll freaking stop flushing it so that he would see his Abednego by himself when next he wants to use it! Even seeing a brownish urine-caused waterwaste down the WC disgusts, how much more this shit! What nonsense! Even if he has five heads, what nonsense!

First thing first, wetin person wey senior you with 10 years dey do for your hostel? Is he a Lecturer or Post graduate student? Or he refused to graduate?

Talk to him again and again. If he doesn't change, make sure you don't use the toilet, if he wants to use it again, he will flush.

Drop the lid when you want to bath or spray air freshener. By the time you do this for a week, he will learn to flush

Leave the toilet for the dirty man!

Not flushing that toilet can cause you both health problems. Is he bigger than you? If he's not, you have to confront him. When I say confront, you have to be ready to fight him. If he's bigger than you, organize boys to mend him, tell his girlfriend, or find a way to run him out of that room.

A man who loses respect for himself cannot expect respect from others.

I recall I along 3 others went visiting a couple, one of the guys requested to use the toilet and madam of the house showed him the way. He came back after usage and just about 10 mins later, madam came to the sitting room and requested the guy to go back to the toilet and flush it, should also use the brush to clean the stained sides......felt so embarrassed.

The annoying thing was that on our way home, the guy was justifying his dirty action by saying what is the big deal if the woman had flushed it, that is it not her home!

Some people are damn irritating. The madam should instead have showed him the way to the nearest bush where he belongs. The guy is a nonsense person!

On a serious note, faeces is not something you play with as it carries a lot of health risk and to add to it, the smell is not pleasant. To avoid you getting ill from this nansense behaviour of your brother, you better sort this out with him especially as both of you are living together.

Since you know he finds it difficult to remember that he hasn’t flush the toilet after use; all you need to do if you are around when he uses the toilet is to stand by and once he opens the toilet door without hearing any water flush, you simply remind him like this “Bros you never flush toilet o”

By the time you do that as a constant reminder, he will know that when he comes out of the toilet, his brother is standing guard to remind him to flush. Nobody go tell am say make him flush when he know say he go hear em brother voice reminding him to flush.

You have a door to that toilet right? And I'm guessing whoever that is sitting on the toilet will be facing the door right?..

Just go to your laptop, Write with bold letters Please flush the toilet after using it Thank you for your corporation Print it out and paste it at the door...

Whoever that is sitting there each time using the toilet, it will be a constant reminder..

There are levels to this thing, but this is the worst of them all. Viewing your own poo Gan is bad enough, not to talk of person own.. 30 mins later when e don 'ferment'. The smell and everything.
As the bros no one get sense, you must be firm oh.Talk to him, dash am insult dey go touch am. If he doesn't change, you both go your separate ways.

Just look for a cardboard paper white to be precise, use a black or red or combine them and write in upper case letters. Flush after using the toilet else amadioha and tunder will fire your yansh.


On a more serious note, if after applying all the advice given here and he still remain adamant, please for your health sake just leave that apartment for him and go rent somewhere else. If na hostel, change room asap. I am wondering how you've been eating especially soups.
