I had my fair share of this embarrassment 2 months ago. I do not blame them cause I was the one who defaulted but regardless the calls were too much it made me contemplate suicide. I am telephonophobic after experiencing that, I became hyper-telephonophobic to the point I start ventilating (panic attack) when my phone rings.

It's not the company's fault. The criminal probably dropped your number as a close contact and they are helpless now that he has absconded with their money
Nobody drops any number!
By accepting to the terms and conditions of the loan Sherlocks, you inevitably grant them access to the contacts on your device. In the event of a default, the send sms or calls to the contacts randomly.

I want to call the attention of the government to save us from the embarrassing calls and messages of loan companies.

They always claim the debtor dropped your contact with them which is NOT true but rather they send messages or call all numbers on the contact list of the debtor. I have never taken a loan in my life neither do I care to do so.

I got a message today from a company called CREDIT9JA that somebody took a loan from them, that he dropped my number as an emergency number for them to call. Why dragging innocent people into a deal or transaction they know nothing about?

The most annoying part is that u might end up not knowing the person; reason is because people can get people's contact without their consent.

This is the 3rd time i will encounter this. The first was abt a schoolmate of mine during my undergraduate days, the second was a fellow Corp member during my service in the core North and now is a stranger who have my number. Yet these people suddenly claimed he is my relative. It's so annoying! I called back and gave them a stern warning. See the reply I got.

Kindly blacklist the number.

Why did you take alone that you couldn't pay back 100% at the last stipulated time? For you not to have paid back the remaining 20% shows that you are dubious.

[quote author=ivolt post=106478772]Are you sure you are not the debtor
considering the anger in your response?[/quo

The pic I posted was actually the response I got from the loan agent bc I called them to vent my displeasure over their invasion of my privacy.

Sir, its bc u don't know me. If u do, u can never assume it's me who took loan. I CAN NEVER BORROW money from loan companies. I don't even borrow from my friends bc I believe they also have needs & would not want to cause inconveniences. Am a staunch advocate of CONTENTMENT.

The first two encounters I took it calmly but dis third one is a No No No. I have served in various leadership offices during my undergraduate & Nysc days so its normal for students & Corp members to have my contact. How many of them can I remember?

Can you listen to what you just said?

The accused probably dropped his number as a close contact, WITH HIS CONSENT OR WITHOUT?

Was he informed about the transaction before his number was taken?

Their app download all your contacts. That's why their app can work on your mobile if you deny is access to contact and messaging.
People using these services are putting their phone at Risk

CBN should check or look into the excesses of all these loan companies.

Embarrassing innocent citizens in the name having access to the contacts of a debtor is archaic, uncalled for and unprofessional.

I think they need to seek the guarantor consent before giving out the loan.

What they do is that they send messages to all the debtor contact or sometimes call.

The one am even experiencing now is, it's a programmed machine that calls... You can't even respond cos it's a machine. I even tried to block the number and I couldn't. The number calls me twice everyday.

Re: Help! Embarrassing Calls From Loan Companies by Ernestforyou: 8:43pm On Oct 05, 2021
I am experiencing same thing.A strange number has been calling me about someone taking loan from their company and dropped my phone as a guarantor, without my consent and that I will be held responsible if he didn’t pay back.I tried to call back or send it but not going through.

My prayer for you and i is that, may we never have the cause to borrow. Mind you, not all debtors have the criminal mind of deliberately not wanting to pay back loan.

Things are happening my brother!
