I'm a medical student in my penultimate year, and I've been talking to some friends into tech, and I just developed love for what they do. I intend to learn front end design before I leave school, pls which resources can help and I won't mind a mentor, is html the best to start with? Pls, I need your help guys. Thanks

Front end simply consists of HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Once you know these 3, you're good to go.

There are loads of resources online depending on how best you learn. I can recommend W3schools or u can use websites like Coursera et al to learn. Good luck.

Anything will do as long there's sufficient RAM like 4-6GB minimum. When you start getting jobs u can switch to a higher spec for better performance...

A designer uses tools such as Photoshop and figma to design how the user interface of a web application looks so that the user has the best user experience possible. He'll design for all types of screen sizes and types; mobile, tablet, desktop.

A developer does the actual coding of the of what the designer created.

They're related but different. Many frontend developers have knowledge of frontend design. Many frontend designers have basic knowledge of frontend development.

To be honest, I'm not the right person to advise on frontend stuff. I deal with backend and data science.

Nonetheless, I'll give general advise.

Don't try to learn all, at least for a start. Pick one line, focus on it and try to build as much confidence and experience in it. You can diversify when you're confident enough in one.

Regarding which to start with, it depends on your background and passion. If you're more inclined towards designing then web design (UX) is good. However, if you're more geeky and love coding then web development is great.

As I said earlier, I'm not an expert on this topic.

The three main languages to learn in Front-end dev are html, css and js, but that doesn't mean that they are the only languages in front-end dev but you can choose to settle for the three since they are the basic ones.

As you progress the path will become clearer and you will start seeing stuff in more detail.
