Pls read again and take note of where obailala mentioned 50km:

Some anti-aircraft guns have a range of over 30,000ft, which isnt far from the standard cruising altitude of a 737. You'd be surprised at what some of those monster guns can bring down. Besides, if they mount the gun even 50km from the airport, it could easily bring down a descending plane.

So security personnel will provide security as far as 50km from d airport
Have you heard of what is called AWAC?

Is going to detect the gun truck.

What kind of Anti Aircraft Gun is in the possession of the Bandits that can threaten GMB aircraft?

I find it so hard to believe this news.

Except they have a SAM, no anti aircraft gun can take down any of the presidential jets cause of how high they do fly.

Bros no stress yourself. Its actually his chopper. He flies that to his village from Abuja.

Soldiers and police are always on ground. They will be monitoring every inch of land close to the Airport.

The Bandits won't just come out of no where to shoot down the president plane while it's descending or ascending

The same Soldiers Bandits raided their Training School?!!

Very soon, the only people that would sell Nigeria their weapons would be the Chinese.

Forget Western weapons. They won't risk their tech falling into wrong hands.

At this juncture, all I can say is that it's finished!!

Quick question, what were the soldiers doing with anti aircraft gunships in the forests when neither Boko Haram nor bandits have fighter jets??

Or they just handed it to them on a platter of gold and still paid them huge sums of money to get it back from them??

I pity those still believing there is a country!!

How can a bunch of probably malnourished bandits steal anti aircraft guns from the Nigerian Military?

Surprise attack

U guys have no idea what d military faces in the north, sometimes d enemies are 3-4 times thier numbers, they still fight them off...but it doesn't always work smoothly at all times. of course, there are some cowards among them too.

To me, dat ransom for that gun should not have being paid, since they could figured out d attacker, intense bombardment should be carried out till they wipe him out & his men. Now dat they paid d ransom, dis idi#t bandits from hell will seriously target military equipment to cash out

Story reads like fiction. How can foreign WJS journalists have intimate details of such crimes in the bush of the north? Dem would be kidnapped and held for ransom themselves unless they have a close relationship with and get intel from the sponsors. I noticed Bloomberg News also publishes negative and mischievous stories about the administration. Seems like dem hate when certain international financial forces can't easily help in the looting of the Nigeria national treasury which has been the norm for decades.
The full disclosure of the Pandora Papers can't arrive soon enough.

In June 1998, sani abacha died. Pls who first reported his death, local or foreign media?

Who are their "sponsors" that u are referring?

The "negative and mischievous stories" which u say Bloomberg News published about the administration, are they true or false?

When Nigeria is ready to defeat these criminals, they will do so. Until then, let's keep watching these jokers. Also, in defeating these criminals, economic development is also necessary.

This is in Katsina. So plans taking off or coming in to land. That’s when it’s most vulnerable due to lower flight altitude. That’s when anti aircraft weaponry can cause serious damage.

So before the reach "how high" they fly, where are they? The presidential jet also lands high in the sky, the president then uses a very high Ladder to come down. undecided

They can still be easy Target when they are about to land. They have to reach very low altitudes while still tens of kilometres away from the airport and airports runways are often located in remote isolated areas.

Secondly, he may require a helicopter to move from the airport to his country home. due to the proximity, the chopper will need to fly low. The MIA/DIA must have done some risk analysis before proceeding.

Why then is it called anti aircraft gun?

The guy you quoted is a BMC bandit.

He's only defending his fellow bandits.

First, there's no airport in Buhari's hometown of Daura.

The article clearly stated he'd be traveling to his home town, not Katsina.

So to get from Katsina to Daura, he'd have to use a helicopter. Which those anti aircraft weapons can definitely bring down.

There is something called AWACS.

AWACs will pick up the guntrucks before it will have the chance to engage a presidential jet.
Hmmm... this AWACS you talk of, I'm not sure I know what it is. But from a quick google search, I discovered the AWACS is a kind of massive surveillance aircraft with a powerful infrared radar system capable of picking up 'low flying' threats (not exactly ground threats). Correct me if this is wrong?

If I'm right about the AWACS, then all I can ask is ARE YOU JOKING? Are you really being serious or just taking a piss by assuming Nigeria has such capabilities?

No wonder Yorubas and their Housa/Fulanis masters have been trying so hard to put IPOB/ESN in thesame category with Boko Haram,Fulani Herdsmen/Bandits or worst so that they can have justification to destroy IPOB/ESN Nnamdi Kanu created to protect Igbos in a time like this but they have failed and keep on failing. They also tries so mucheto creat bad blood between IPOB/ESN against Igbos by instigating Igbos that IPOB/ESN is killing them which they also failed too

You can't just come out from no where to shoot down the presidential plane.
You are actually dumber than I thought.
The reason why they paid the ransom to get back the anti aircraft gun was because of the possible threat it would pose to Buhari's helicopter while flying to Daura .

In your statement that I quoted earlier, you ignorantly thought the report was talking about the presidential jet .

It is my candid opinion to say that insecurity in Northern Nigeria is one of the biggest medium used by politicians and the military to enrich themselves. It is their own oil money.
