Where are you travelling to? That determines when you should go for the test as most countries require a 72-hour validity. If you are travelling within Africa or Europe with a direct flight, you can do the test 2 days before you travel, so you leave 24 hours for result collection and you can arrive with time to spare before the 72 hours deadline elapses.

If you are undertaking travel that will involve connecting flights, you have to leave sufficient room for delays and layovers. In this instance, your test MUST be done 24 hours before travel and you must use an NCDC-approved private testing centre that will guarantee you same day result release. This option is expensive, but hey, if you can cough out money for ticket, you can pay for an expensive same-day result testing process.

Thank you very much for this info. I will be traveling to Ghana.
How do I locate the NCDC approved center and do u by chance know how much it cost?
I intend running the test on the 1st while my flight is on the second around afternoon. Do you think this will work?

I did mine for 50,400 at government approved lab, and it takes not less than 24 hours to get the result.
Check NCDC site, there are approved labs near you that you can get tested.

Thank you for this explanation, I too needed it very much. Do you know an approved testing centre that will be well accepted by UK?
