How Messi Is Proving Predictions About Him Right by allgoodlight(m): 9:50pm On Oct 30, 2021
Lionel Messi is generally considered, by a large section of football fans, as the greatest footballer to ever play the beautiful game due to his high level of individual performance over the years.

The Argentinian international shattered a lot of records both at the club and international level while he was playing for Barcelona in the top tier of the Spanish football league system. The individual highlights of his Barcelona career include the six Ballon d'Or he won at the club.

Messi was very successful both at the individual and team level in the close to two decades he spent at Barcelona, but one narrative that has become very popular in recent years is whether the Argentinian legend can perform outside his comfort zone.

A lot of questions have been raised about his suitability to other leagues, with most of his critics arguing that he can only perform in a Barcelona team that was tailor-made for him.

The idea that Messi will struggle to perform on a cold and rainy night in Stoke even became a popular saying among English football fans. There were a lot of predictions that Messi will find it hard to replicate his performances at Barcelona elsewhere.

Fast forward to the 2021 summer transfer window, Messi finally got the opportunity to prove all his critics wrong by moving to Paris Saint-Germain after the expiration of his Barcelona contract.

He was expected to join Neymar and Mbappe in creating a fearsome Paris Saint-Germain's attacking lineup, but the reverse seems the case. It can even be argued that the team plays better whenever he is not in the starting lineup.

Lionel Messi is yet to score or create any goal for a teammate in his five league games for Paris Saint-Germain. He has even been substituted twice due to poor performances.

The Barcelona legend is just a few months into his contract at Paris Saint-Germain, but the early signs suggest that he is struggling to adapt to the French league. He still has enough time to turn this around, but until then, he has proven those who questioned his ability to perform outside of Barcelona right.

I hope he bounce back soon to prove his critics wrong.

All the above jargons just to achieve what?

Messi is struggling in Ligue 1 but his club are top on the log with 10 points clear

He's not struggling in the champions league though, because he has 3 goals grin

If not scoring goals is the new definition of struggling for a player that is not a striker then yes, Messi is struggling

You can go and rest

Last week, Manchester United 0 vs 5 Liverpool

Ronaldo scored no goal.

Ronaldo’s impact in the game against Liverpool was the same as Lionel Messi’s impacts in PSG league matches for the season so far.

I leave the thread in piece with no table leg broken

But that's not the OP argument. However, I think with time Messi will definitely adjust to league one. The expectation was so high that people were expecting him to hit the ground running but it doesn't always work like that.

The coach said Messi was taken off as a precaution because of injury... he sat out of training for the Lille match but to you he was taken off for poor performance... Agenda must agend...

If you want to make this objective, remove 'Perform outside of Barcelona' in your article.
He has won how many trophies and medals with the Argentina Team? That team is completely 'Outside of Barcelona'

One tap in and one penalty, all thanks to Mbappe, the reason why he has those goals he has scored

The truth is that if CR7 have yet to get goals in EPL just like Messi the media would have been buzzing by now.
But Messi will soon adapt to the French league 1 & goals will be coming in

The world expect more from Ronaldo than messi. Imagine Ronaldo have not scored in the premiership by now. The world would be awestruck....Cr7 has set the standards so high that 8 goals in 10 matches is consider a poor stats for him. He is expected to score in every match.
