I have never praised a governor in Nigeria for constructing any flyover because all flyovers in Nigeria are just ordinary.

When your governor can deliver something like this, let me know.

We should stop celebrating mediocrity in this country.

Bros be realistic, the money the nigerian government budget for road construction won't be enough to do flyovers like these ones.

And it would take 3 different administration, each serving 2 terms before they would get to 80% completion..
this is why yhe Blackman is backward... DO WE HAVE A MINISTRY OF Works The last time I checked... the federal govt controlled land and water in nigeria exclusively. What would it take to build these? Sand , gravel ,coal ,granite ,steel, cement ,architects ,and manpower. If there was merit and no federal xter... the ministry of works should be 90% architects and engineers but No.. na mallams wey study sharia education full there. Infact an engineer may never lead that ministry. We don't need to give out contracts with such a large ministry of works workfoce.. FG HAS ALL THE RESOURCES( not money). This should be piece of cake.

Yes I agree if the government wants to do it, they have all the resources they need.

But bros, Lagos - Ibadan expressway has been on construction since I was born, the 4th mainland bridge in Lagos they have approved funds more than twice and no visible work has started.

Don't get me wrong, I am not saying Nigeria can not do it but the leaders we have now cannot...

Those of you quoting me are not understanding my point.

Does Nigeria have the money to build a bridge like that? I agree

but if we look at the money budgeted for road construction in a year for all federal roads are they even enough for normal straight road, does it even shows that money was budgeted for road construction/rehabilitation.

ordinary 2nd Niger bridge, one administration approved it, another administration started works on it, we are not even sure if this administration would complete it

Now you telling them to construct this type of bridge is you telling them to loot as they like.

From the tune of your message u are from Kogi State. Your governor is building something similar to the picture shown above. That is what we want to show case that we are ready for president.
Can we please stop celebrating mediocrity. Is there anything so spectacular about flyover construction?

OP,

Firstly,I don't think any state in Nigeria have the financial capability to build these type of flyovers.

Secondly, what most people do not understand is that flyovers are not built to massage the ego of a governor or to get the support of the citizens of the state but to solve traffic problems only!

Except for Lagos where the population density is quite high,a flyover like this in any state is a white elephant project.

There's more to government administration than building roads and flyovers!

Obviously you've never been to kaduna, let alone Kano(third and second most populous states in the country respectively)... Traffic isn't yet comparable to that of Lagos but it's definitely becoming a nightmare.

What about new Airports they are building up and down. Is that how a standard Airport should look like?? Warehouses is what those useless Governors are building claiming they have built a good Airport. Mediocre projects littered all our country.

Don't mind the yeye poster typing rubbish.

The ONLY place we MIGHT need an interchange like that is in Lagos.

And I say ''might'' because, I really can't think of anywhere even in Lagos, that such an interchange is required at this time.

We have more pressing issues than building white elephant projects.

Money should be spent on upgrading the road system of Lagos by tarring every single road and adding sidewalks, underground drainage and lighting to the side streets.

Just today the governor of Lagos State was on the News commissioning a car pack, with much fanfare. Appalling

That said, this sort of attitude by Nigerian ruling elites isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

They have the money but divert it to their private pockets..60% of construction cost ends up in leaders accounts ,you wonder why it is taking even federal Govt decades to repair and reconstructs Lagos/Ibadan express road.. what they spend on that road is enough to build additional 3Clasdical road like that.. we should stop fooling ourselves.. these leaders are insincere but one day they will give Account to God
