So I was one of the very first people to download the Enaira app when it first hit the play store.

I was madly interested in the project right from the onset though I had very little understanding of the app or its major purpose.

But I was really disappointed the very first time I downloaded it. I couldn't register because the app request that you must have an email address linked to your BVN which I didn't have.

I guess I was not the only one affected as thousands of people complained about the same thing.

Well CBN actually heed to these complaints (not like they have a choice though) and the issues have been resolved.

Today I thought I'd give the app a try and i was quite blown away. The sign up process was a breeze and in less than 1-2 minutes I was done.

(A good lesson to developers here, make your on boarding process as easy as possible because sign up can make or destroy your business).

The app interface is very clean. I guess this is important since the app is targeted at everyone including old men and women.

The feature is very basic. You can send money or recieve money directly into your bank account.

All you have to do is scan a QR code or generate a QR code to get paid. When generating the QR code, you can set the amount to be paid if you wish.

I think this is the real cashless deal. And one market women and men will love.

Side thought: enaira is your regular bank account but it makes it easier for everyone to use. Even a grandma can get it working with just one explanation.

Another side note: This is a big problem for Abeg app. Abeg is an over beautify and feature rich enaira app.

So what will now happen to abeg app, because obviously, I don't think they can compete with enaira. Besides Enaira is too easy to use and with time, I think most people will start dumping even regular bank transfer for it.

The federal government would have
Made billions in crypto...but they dug their pit by making something like egold or liberty reserve instead of a blockchain coin

If the E-Naira cannot do transborder transfer, then it isn't useful.

I won't use it ,until it can make international Transfers like crypto

Some of U are really funny... In no where in ur write up did U indicate why the app is a fine project. All U did was tell us about how u registered on the app and what U THINK of the app..
Now lemme ask U..
1. How is using the app different from using ur native bank apps?
2. U mentioned dis is one market men and women would love. Explain how exactly traders in the market would prefer to have use d enaira wallet to send and receive money they still can receive using their bank accounts?

E naira is still useless, it's not on Blockchain network, same as your regular bank account. Regular account is even better. Waste of resources because of lack ideas. I pity those in position of authority without the right knowledge to inject reforms that would boost the economy

I understand that block chain might be very lucrative since it can bring anyone in the world aboard but that's missing the goal of the enaira project.

Enaira aims to reduce the friction of transactions in the country. A lot of people still prefer cash today to bank transfer especially in the market place.

Enaira will reflect instantly. And what's better than paying a market woman by just scanning her phone and she sees the green tick immediately to confirm her transaction?

Less paper money. Less friction for transactions.

First of all, I don't owe you an article. I don't owe you any explanation.

Secondly, the app is better than bank apps in every way.

Bank apps do not confirm transactions in real time. This app make transfer instantly.

Secondly, with the app, you make transfer in 3 steps, open the app, scan the QR code and the confirm the amount you want to pay.

Bank apps step is longer if you can think it up.

The app is meant for direct payment: scan and pay instead of the long transfer process and the wait period between sms confirmation.

I think this is a very good initiative. One that we should embrace whole heartedly.

And you shouldn't be comparing it to bank apps, the only app that comes in close comparison to the enaira app is the Abeg app or Cashapp.

you get it wrong.

I thought the same way too but once you see the drive behind the project, you will understand its purpose.

Not every fintech should be about Blockchain.

Apart from investing, how does Blockchain simplify transactions within the country?

Even countries with more knowledgeable people haven't fully adopted the technology for day to day transactions and you want Nigeria to start using it?

Let me tell you this, enaira makes transactions easier and that's the goal. It's as simple as dipping your hands in your pocket and giving paper money to a seller without using the paper, you still can't see the benefit in that?

typing with ignorance.

The app is linked directly to your bank account, so you don't fund it.

If u were to make payment, the money will be deducted from my bank account directly.

So yes, it'll indicate zero until I receive a payment.

Stop misleading people. I also wanted to see how the app works and as such I downloaded and linked one of my accounts to the app That it is linked to your account doesn't mean U won't fund it. You still have to fund your enaira wallet from your bank app...

Old school me trying so hard to wrap my head around this Enaira thingy. Is it like Bitcoin? Can I use it to make payment outside Nigeria?
