Hello,

You want my candid advice don't buy you might later regret it, mark my word, laptops with celeron are not worth the hype as you continue with the use of it, you will get fustrated reasons been that celerons are motherboards built for general mild use, and not for heavy useage, celeron baords are good for novice, first time laptop end user like students if you truly want something that will be much more serves you and be more useful for what you need go with Corei5 laptops or Corei7 I have good neat American used laptops if you need samples of laptops that I have for sale call me or chat me up via whatsapp on 08023900627.

Regards

David

Don't get shoehorned by anyone saying Celeron is a bad processor. You stated celeron N3060... This a Celeron processor made in 2015; worth much better than many core i5 before that and definitely the HP 15 you're referring to would be a 2016 model at worst..

You said it's for general use and I'm guessing basic usage such as: browsing, watching movies, word processing etc. If that's what you intend to use it for, go for it as long as it's clean and has no issues.

I hate it when a seller tries to divert an end user by saying crap on what they don't know all because they want to sell their own stuffs. Don't listen to peeps who try to divert you from your main choice like the last poster before me who only try to benefit by pushing others away all to sell theirs which is greed & selfishness.

My advice to you, Sir. Since he's tried diverting you off from the other seller whom you both may have come to terms with on the HP 15, offer the same price of that HP 15 for his American Core i5 & i7 laptops since he prefers to shoehorn than give advice and let him know that's your last offer.

I just took the pain to browse on Google so that you can know I was telling you the truth and not trying to deceive you like that seller... Furthermore, so that seller can learn a thing or two rather than just spewing bollocks on what he doesn't know. Celeron N3060 are different from the old celerons. You'd also see them on HP Probook 11 x360, Dell Inspiron 11 x360, Chromebook 14a, the CB-series and others.

Maybe that seller would tell us if these models or type of laptops were available in 2010 for him to generalize that all Celeron processors are not good. I'm a seller too but it doesn't mean I'd have to be so stupid to say what I don't know all because of I wanna sell my products.

Go ahead with your transaction with the seller of the HP 15 but if you're swayed by the core i5 or i7 thingy, either you offer him the same price or get a warranty from him coz it's peeps like him who would not wanna give a customer a listening ear after sale for a bad item sold. Do that then maybe he'd realize how hurtful it is to mess with another seller's joy.

Thank you for this.... You have helped a lot... I realt don't know much about laptops and their specifications... Difference BTW celeron and i5 or i7 now put me in a stage I don't understand.... I just want a good system that can basically do mostly everything... I don't intend to get a laptop now and spend on another laptop soon or later

it all depends on you, Sir...what you intend to do on the long run. I've used an Asus laptop with a Celeron processor for 10yrs now and still working and many won't believe I use it to play PES 2017 without lag or drags. Just having a Celeron with 500gb and 2gb RAM. Normally, I should be going for a high end, especially one with a dedicated graphics but I chose not to due to the fact that my need for a laptop isn't up to me getting to splurge and added to it, I'm a seller, so I'd have less time for it.

It depends on your needs, Sir. Would you see yourself getting into graphics design, CGI simulation, 3D rendering activities, music production, gaming, software development or website development, IT consulting; etc in the near future. That should be your goal. What you are now determines where you're headed to in the future.

And to say you want a laptop you won't change or buy in the future is almost not guaranteed because new models and designs do crop up and the ones you're seeing expensive now maybe cheaper which may be better than any one you get now. It's just a matter of:

- forecasting
- decision making
- patience

When you know what you want, you can go for what fits or suit that want.
Re: Is It A Good Buy Or I Should Chill For Something Better by FluxEmpire(m): 9:01am On Dec 03, 2021
When you make a decision on your laptop needs, I'd put you through on what you can go for... Besides, your budget capacity also is a major factor which was why I listed decision making and if it's not enough for what you want to get, you can exercise the patience option and work to increase that budget you have, Sir.

You can get any good laptop for your data analysis and the HP 15 you were going for would still the job as long as it:
- is a 64 bit laptop
- has a good RAM for processing information (4gb at least)
- has a 256gb SSD storage for a faster execution or 500gb HDD at least if you intend have voluminous information
- has a webcam if you intend to attend online classes using webcam apps like zoom
- has a good battery which would help to carry out certain apps that involves statistical and logical analytical operations

If an old laptop can handle programs like Basic, Cobol, Fortran, Pascal, C++ and the likes, this HP 15 with a 2015 Celeron processor would do what you intend it to do.

The Celeron processor has a turbo boost of 2.4ghz speed and the main element of this processor is consuming less power. It's why you hear less noise with laptops having this processor as well as N4020 or so which is the 2016 model.

https://versus.com/en/intel-celeron-n3060-vs-intel-core-i5-2520m

The link above shows fully what I sent in the screenshot below about how good the 2015 N3060 processor is for you to know or put emphasis to what I'd been saying because there are many out there who just mention processors and just believe any processor below i5 is terrible even when the i5 is an outmoded one; same people would see a Penitum Gold processor and slag it all coz Pentium is involved without actually knowing squat.

Same peeps would see a core i3 10th gen laptop and would think a Folio 9470m/9480m Core i5 (3rd & 4th gen respectively) is better than the core i3 10th gen, not knowing that i3 is miles more powerful than that Folio coz that i3 processor has a turbo boost of 4.1ghz and would play most games that those Folios would be on fire to play them.

As long as you're not going for graphics design or using graphics apps like 3Dx Max, Maya, BIM, Orion etc...you're golden with the HP 15 you intended going for, Sir.

It is well as I rest my case, Sir.

If you want to be on the safe side since you don't know what you'll be using the pc for in the future, kindly opt for a system with minimum of core i3 or core i5. Core i7 would be going overboard. You can't buy more processors. So it's best you get the highest one within your price range.

Then for the RAM look for 4-8gb RAM. 4gb for now, 8-16gb later when you need it, you can always buy more RAM anytime you want.

For storage, you can get anywhere from 320gb to 500gb. Since you can easily increase the storage, it doesn't matter if you buy a pc with a low storage now as you can easily change it.

If you need your pc to be fast, you should consider SDD storage over HDD. This is when you start using it for heavy software like graphics design, programming or gaming. Otherwise, HDD storage is fine.

Intel celeron is low in terms of speed. Although it is okay for normal browsing, playing music (or DJ work), watching movies.

But once you start loading things into the system, it'll start lagging.

So for now, the best future proof pc incase anything pops up is a system with minimum of:
4gb RAM
core i3 (strongly advise to go for core i5 though, your budget of 100k can afford it)
320-500gb SSD (SSD is faster but more expensive than HDD, so a pc with lower SSD storage will cost more than one with higher HDD).

It doesn't matter if the system has windows 10, 7 8 or any other one, you can easily change it.

If you can get one with independent graphic card then it'll be a great bonus. But the above spec will be future proof enough regardless of the kind of things you want to do with the laptop later on

You can't use 100k to get a laptop that would do everything and you said graphics would come up later. A proof to know that a 100k core i5 won't carry heavy or graphics oriented apps is to try and load a UEFI Windows on it. If at the start of the loading, the display flickers, know that you're on a Core i5 that's legacy windows made only.

It's why I've been letting you know that it's not just about getting any core i5 with your 100k. That 100k would get you a Core i5 of 2nd or 3rd gen and that's for 2011 laptops like HP Elitebook 2560P. Would you use that core i5 laptop for graphics app later like Maya? You're as good as getting another laptop all the same.

And that core i5 of that laptop model is outmoded. I don't need to tell you because it's a 2010 core i5 processor. You want a laptop that can do everything with 100k... It's not possible; as you can't eat your cake and have it. Either you save your money and get a UEFi based Core i5 laptop with 2gb dedicated graphics or you go for an AMD Ryzen laptop since AMD laptops from A6 pro up to Ryzens are graphics laptops. If you manage to save to get a Ryzen 3 laptop, all the best to you. It's up to you to let someone else tell you that AMD are not good...

Listening to an advice from someone like that is similitude to you advising yourself if that kind of person won't know the difference between an AMD ATHLON OR TURION processor against A6 and above.
Re: Is It A Good Buy Or I Should Chill For Something Better by FluxEmpire(m): 10:03am On Dec 06, 2021
If you'd be going for a laptop that can do ALMOST everything including graphics, you should be looking at these specs:

- Core i5
- 5th gen (minimum)
- 256gb SSD / 512gb SSD
- 16gb RAM / 8gb RAM
- 2.3ghz processor speed (minimum)
- 2gb dedicated graphics
- Inbuilt battery

Can you get something like this at 100k? NO. Why I told you about knowing what you want and being patient.

If we're going to go on cost management, we'd have to remove the 2gb dedicated graphics and that means the laptop specs for the laptop to get would be this:

- Core i5
- 5th gen (minimum)
- 256gb SSD / 512gb SSD
- 16gb RAM / 8gb RAM
- 2.3ghz processor speed (minimum)
- Integrated graphics (Intel UHD: 600 series, Intel Iris Plus 640 & 650, Intel Iris Pro)
- Inbuilt battery

And these specs cuts out the need for having a dedicated graphics and would just do fine generally. Asides that, don't ever think just any core i5 would do the graphics work that's used to create movies like Moana, Frozen and the likes.

most systems processors can be removed and changed, he can later upgrade it to a core i5 or i7 in the future. the graphics is embeded on the same die on the processor.
