A Nigerian-American medical doctor, Princess Dr. Mercy Uwakwe has called for the arrest of everyone that has a hand in the incident that led to the death of Sylvester Oromoni, a student of Dowen College Lagos, including members of the management.

Princess Uwakwe, an Abia born philanthropist was reacting to the shutting down of the school by Lagos state government.

On a social media post on Saturday she accused the management of the school of concealing necessary information before young Mr. Oromoni later died.

She said, "Dear Lagos State Government,
"Now Dowen College is in indefinite shutdown, I request all parties involved in the incidents that led to the death of late Sylvester Oromoni be arrested. This includes the school management of Dowen College who concealed the necessary information & details on young Sylvester's demise."

The 12-year-old student of Dowen College, Lagos was said to have died from the injuries he sustained from being bullied in the school by other students.

Family and friends of late Sylvester Oromoni on Saturday celebrated his first posthumous birthday.

Late Sylvester Oromoni, who was in JSS 2, was also allegedly forced to drink a substance by his fellow students. He died on Tuesday.

However, reacting to his birthday, his father said: “We will celebrate his birthday on the 4th of December (Saturday). Please, tell Nigerians to join us”.

The federal government need to start looking into management system of private boarding schools in Nigeria - they seem to be getting away with rape and murder - literally!

I concur to that, the truth is that nothing will happen to the school authorities they knew it that was why they had the mind to start online classes ,they might be connected to oga at the top that will make sure this dirt is swept under the carpet even ontop of the roof..those boys shouldn't have had access to the boy if it is managed as it should be..students suppose to be completely protected in their hostels ,cos in boarding school the hostels is home away from home but they failed to provide adequate protection to innocent children under their care.. as for those ruthless boys that did this ,they will live with this curse of been a murderer for the rest of their lives except they truly repent and turn themselves in to state authorities

If you have a scandalous issue in Nigeria and it goes public, immediately get off social media and ignore getting any news from there. The online trial your country people will give you is enough to make you consider suicide.
Dowen College has been there for more than a decade but because of one issue where its students were able to perpetrate evil, everyone wants the school to be burnt down. Before now, all of the online noisemakers never talked about bullying. Instead of letting police do their job, they will be crying sentiments here and there.

The police is on top of the case. The ministry of Education is on top of the case. Dowen College is on top of the case. The Delta state governor is on top of the case. You started well,but your conclusion and verdict on closure of private boarding schools is wrong.
Do you know it is easy to curtail these attrocities in a private settings compared to the public counterparts due to obvious reasons,if you have never experienced life in a pub boarding school,then you need to do so cos evil acts have a dwelling there.
