Please, this is to get public opinion on Employment Bond and its validity...especially from the Lawyers in the house and others who have knowledge on the issue.

Recently, in my Company, my boss talked some new Staff into signing Employment Bonds. This happened barely 3 months ago, and yet his attitude towards the Staff has changed for the worst, and many, if not all of them want out.

I must state that none of them has been issued Employment Letter even though they had all spent more than six months working before the signing of the bond. Based on this, would it be right to conclude that the signed bonds are invalid?

A brief research I did, showed that an Employee shouldn't be forced to sign Employment Bonds as it invalidates it. This was exactly what happened. They were threatened of losing their jobs if the bonds remained unsigned in their hands. Lawyers in the house, please tell if this holds water.

The use of 'Employee' in this case is debatable even, considering the fact that I mentioned above...none of them has Employment Letter. But I am not an authority on this, thus the need to bring it here.

Please, kindly share your views. It will be appreciated. Thank you.
