Landing gist
I used Ethiopian airways on arrival at the airport in Abuja I was asked for my ticket print out my arrive can and Covid test with my passport. After that I went to get checked in, my bags were a little over weigh so I paid 50 dollars, then I got checked in normals.
Got to Ethiopia my layover was just 1hr not much but the security checks were a lot had to keep removing my shoe Mtchewww.
Then got into the plane and started a really long trip of 16hrs I almost ran mad
Finally reach Toronto went through one self declaration stuff just declare what you have scan passport answer some questions finish get your print out and head to one of the officials.
The official will ask what you have tell her she’ll write it down then you move on to study permit, now I’m upset about this part I had a list of the requirements made stupid copies guess what they only asked for the correspondence letter gave me my study permit and I was off to get my box, they didn’t waste my time at all . Got my box went to get tested for Covid then I was done
I now had an 8hr layover to my final destination I was hungry and tired
Got to Thunder Bay ah the cold is on press up oh it’s intense, cab services rubbish I sha got to my residence we thank God
Regrets
I wish I carried palm oil �� and more Yaji
I didn’t carry my cloths cause of excess luggage I’m really sad about it
The so called long layover wasn’t soo necessary I wish I used another airline the flight was too long
Pros
.I bought a lot of winter cloths if I didn’t I would have died
.I carried Indomie it saved my life
Cons
.Everything is just expensive food,cab but that one is there business they can’t discourage me oh
.If you have other options use another airline

Congratulations and welcome to maple land. But heads up... Palm oil is not allowed for travel. It is highly prohibited. Imagine if that palm oil leaked or spilled... not just your items but other people's luggage would be damaged as well. You can check for African stores around you to get palm oil. I am sure you will find... if not you can order online from Amazon or other website. it is better than to go put yourself in wahala. I just put a link below (I hope it is allowed) as an example. https://www.amazon.ca/Omni-Red-Palm-33-81-Liter/dp/B08KRQ5N6F/ref=sr_1_5?crid=2N80F514E6P8Q&keywords=palm+oil&qid=1643217150&sprefix=palm+oil%2Caps%2C166&sr=8-5The same can be said for anything else you need (though not certain about the yaji  ) Also, which other airline do you think has less than 15 or 16 hours flight? Turkish air will give you like 8 to 9 hours layover in Turkey and then still fly like 10 to 11 hours to Toronto. Qatar air will do almost same thing... about 13 hours Emirates is 14 hours to Pearson Egypt air will give you 2 to 3 hours layover in Cairo, and then fly about 12 to 13 hours to Canada. The only flight you would get a short time is any flight to Europe, like KLM or Air France or Lufthansa which will be about 8 to 9 hours to Ontario. As for layover within Canada... that is the norm here... you can wait 6 to 8 or even more hours to fly from one part of Canada to another. For cabs, or rather movements, figure out the public transportation system.... and learn how to take the bus. It is cheaper than taxis. Let google map be your friend... Also ask around the best phone lines to use. For winter clothes... LOL... you might need a different coat and boots and gloves over here ooo... except you trust the one you bought from naija. Cover your ears otherwise... lolz But nevertheless, always layer up...
