He never tried to scam anyone. He showed the bank how easy it was to hack and for them to up their security.

That boy is a big time fool.
If truly he wanted show the bank how vulnerable the system is, then he should have followed due process.
First get a lawyer (corporate lawyer) that understand banking law in Nigeria. Then you report your findings to the appropriate department in the bank. Then you keep your mouth shut and only discuss with the parties concerned.
But that fool went ahead to post videos, and even when his residence was raided, they found incriminating things.

Here are some security tips to prevent losing your hard-earned money to hackers:

- Don't use debit cards on an accounts you save huge funds in.
- Get a prepaid card where you can transfer any fund you wish to spend or withdraw at ATM/PoS terminals
- Don't use your bank information on any device apart from yours
- Don't click on random links sent to you via email/messaging apps no matter how tempting
- Don't send your card/bank information to anyone.

These are just some tips, I may put up some post about these things in the future.

You are right that he went too far in his crime by posting the video but either way he would still have been caught. EFCC and DSS now has a very robust capability for this kind of forensic since after the coordinated arson terrorist attack on Lagos by IPOB terrorists group hiding behind politically motivated EndSars protest.

The best thing is not to do the crime. The criminal will be caught.

I can't imagine being locked. I'm claustrophobic and ain't gonna survive in prison.

When you catch these criminals including the Yahoo-Yahoo ones just execute them by firing squad in public places. That’s the only way they will learn. And That should include all Nigerian politicians by the way.

The urge to show off in this side of the world is just too high.

If you can gain access to the database you should be able to extract the emails of people that matter for the bank and alert them
