Have you been sold dummies before? Well, I guess we all have at one point or the other. It might not be pressing iron, it could have been any other electrical appliance. The most terrible part is getting the fake electric pressing iron at the price of the genuine one. It gets even worst when you shop online! These and many more are the reasons I have taken the time to educate you about not just pressing irons but energy-saving pressing irons! In Nigeria, it's almost impossible to believe there is any such thing as energy-saving pressing iron. I mean, we've not even totally accepted the concept of energy-saving bulbs, because it is always zero cost or nothing for Nigerians.
For this topic, we will consider the "famous" Philip pressing iron HD1172/01 which is now dubbed "Nigerian Citizen". Over the years, Nigerians have come to love this masterpiece from Philips until the imitations flooded the Nigerian market. The following are the key features you should look out for;

Bought this master piece (Philips) in 2009 for N2400, spoilt it by placing it on my gas each time i needed to iron my clothes due to lack of electricity supply.
Bought another one for N3500 in 2013 which is still working optimally till date.
These are the type of product we need in Nigeria as a third world country.
Not all these "buy today spoilt tomorrow" products from China.
Our so call SON (Standard Organization of Nigeria) are not at their best.
Though I believe in Nigeria but our present leaders seems more interested in acquiring wealth than national development.
Cus all these fake items came in from borders but no one seems to care.
Really pathetic and frustrating for some of us that want to see our country grow beyond where we are presently.
