Modern football left Eguavoen in 2002. Bringing Joseph Yobo to the coaching crew was a great minus. Alloy Agu has not done anything to the goalkeeping department.

Eguavoen resigning his position & going back to NFF as a technical adviser is rewarding mediocrity with excellence.

I'm guessing that the number of hisses by Nigerians around the world on Tuesday, If we should do statistical analysis, It will get to 91%

The Number of people that did not hiss through out that day in middle of a sentence might be just 9% embarassed

I did not. And grew cold feet when I realized that Eguavon was the replacement.. Eguavon threw us out of USA 94. He pulled the jersey of a player he was much taller than in the 18 yard. That resulted to a penalty Nigeria never came back.

The players that where supposed to play friendly match was used. Eguavon should know better the rivalry btw Nigeria and Ghana.

In the match, u will understand that no communication between the strikers... Lookman was lost and didn't get enough ball. Dennis was just running around like Ghanians Errand boy. Osimeh want to score by all means that is where he lack maturity to lead attack.

God knows we will be out in group stage. That is why he prefers those that did well in their assignment.

There was one particular instance we didn't qualify for world cup we all blame J.J Okocha for not playing that match.

Everybody want to laid blame.... Please Eguavon carreer should ends here please... Someone that cannot beat Tunisia with second fiddle team when almost the full squad tested positive for Corona Virus

Babayaro made a lot of sense.

Our players did not even approach the game like there is a longstanding rivalry between Nigeria and Ghana.

How could they approach a Nigeria-Ghana match with that type of non-nonchalance?
They were tired

You will Lambast everything living till they all resigned and you take their position. The country is expected to fail as nothing is moving forward in any sector. The sector headed by females might likely be doing good but I heard that Npower people haven't been paid maybe their salary is still growing interest in banks.

Being a goal keeper is the worse position in the team when you lose you'd get the blame when you win people hardly remembers you, the accolades are given to the strikers .

they are siblings..
Celestine is the more popular one..
he played at left back for Nigeria, Chelsea and Newcastle..
Emmanuel wasn't as popular, was the second choice goalkeeper at Atlanta 96.. also played for rangers of enugu and some other homebased clubs

Guy even under Rhor SE never played as a Team (see Senegal and Egypt for what I am talking about)

No matter the amount of good players in a Team, if the individual players each play his own thing and not as a cohesive one body playing a certain way together at any given time, that time will flop. The worst for us is we don't even have exceptional individual tents and now worsened with the fact that everyone played his own way.

Rohrs sack was in order but not sure how u arrived at 95%. If eguavoen didn't do well, then he deserves the lambasting. Am not sure what celestine wanted from alloy agu

Some of us saying blame game should know the right word is looking back at the probable causes so as no reoccurence. If we all keep quiet and look and wait , the only major unify and source of joy to many in the country will go down the drain.
FG cant be blamed here. NFF is independent of FG. Mr Pinicki and his team should have resigned along side Eguavon.
The goal keeper trainer too should resign too. Make Babayaro who ia talking take the job and lets see how easy it will be or if he can do better.

2022 World Cup: Babayaro names two people responsible for Nigeria’s failure to qualify

Former Nigeria goalkeeper, Emmanuel Babayaro has said current goalkeeper trainer, Alloy Agu, and the president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick are to be blamed for the country’s failure to qualify for the 2022 World Cup.

The Super Eagles lost out on away goal rule, after drawing 1-1 at home with Ghana on Tuesday.

Babayaro, who won a gold medal at the 1996 Olympics, said, “For me personally, I will lay the blame on goalkeeper trainer, Alloy Agu. He has been the goalkeeper trainer for many years and has failed to bring any improvement on any of the goalkeepers. And also, he has not brought up a new goalkeeper into the fold. So, why is he a goalkeeper trainer?”

He added, “Football has a lot to do with psychology. Uzoho after conceding that goal was shaking because it was a flop for him to allow that ball to go into the net. It takes a lot of character for the goalkeeper to come back better after such a goal.”

The former Super Eagles goaltender also laid blame on the doorsteps of Amaju Pinnick.

“There is no teamwork among Super Eagles and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) because in a situation where only the President is in charge of everything. The President of the Federation is the Chief Scout of Super Eagles. He has been the one traveling to Europe to convince players who were not born here and don’t know much about Nigerian football to come and play for us.

“How can you bring strangers together and expect them to do the work of brothers? They cannot play with that urgency because they don’t know the history and the rivalry between Nigeria and Ghana and what football means to the average Nigerian,” he concluded.

I agreed with Rohr's sacking but not with Eguavoen's appointment.

Because he is basically a civil servant in NFF, not a coach, if he is a coach, where has he been coaching in the last 5 years, which and which teams are going for him?

After the AFCON mishap, why not try Amuneke rather than making him an assistant?
